...I'm with you...he's also getting a little long in the tooth for pro-ball...considering McNab's record with injuries, if Garcia is so good; why didn't the Eagles keep him...[;)]

He probably is past it, though with the Eagles good offensive line he was effective. He's at the point where he's a nice backup for a team with that need, he's smart, experienced, still mobile, and keeps mistakes to a minimum. He'll get a job.

Garcia is viewed as soft and injury prone. this makes him very unmarketable to pro teams. he is also a journeyman and many teamates have said they dont like him. many players have accused him of being gay. personally, i think he is an above average qb who is a good guy. he makes something like 5 mil a year which is alot for a backup and he isnt quite good enough as a starter.

    Newtgingrich,
There's some really weak QBs around the league, though he isn't a star I'd rather have him as a starter than some of these bums.

"Most talented available" doesn't mean much when there is not much available on the free agent market. It's probably a tossup between he and Trent Green, and Green's 37 - not a good choice for the long term.[:)]

The only other real option is David Carr, and he didn't exactly have a great five year run in his last job.[:)]

BULLSNOT! He is viewed as one tough hombre! In 2003 he did sit out a few games with a back injury, but that is it. He made the Pro Bowl for 3 straight years when playing for the 49er's. I've always admired him. Played his heart out without having the talent of a lot of other qb's.

ONE player has accused him of being gay...Terrell Owens. And we know what a stand up guy Terrell is! [xx(] As a matter of fact, he is engaged to this lady (2004 Playmate of the Year)...

I wish I were that gay!

And dheffley...he's not a free agent any more. Signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers early in March.

If Atlanta would trade that clown Vick for him it would be a great improvement.

Garcia is the perfect old man backup. Didn't do bad as a starter in Philly.

    But then again, Philly SUCKS!!!!

Garcia has been a good QB in the right systems. If he is put in the right offense for him, he will do good.

Being a Philly fan and season ticket holder I hate to see him go. I'd rather get rid of McNabb honestly. Garcia's playing looked pretty darn good to me last season.

Getting rid of any player means someone has to admit they were wrong which everyone knows how hard that is.David Carr is a perfect example. They passed on Vince Young and a couple others this draft because "someone" did'nt want to admit they were wrong with Carr.

Micheal Vick and Adam Jones being two others that come to mind

I don't think there's much real interest in Mike "Coach Killer" Vick around the league. The guy may make a good running back, but if you have to have a one dimensional QB that dimension better be passing.

That's certainly been demonstrated throughout football history, hasn't it? Of course, "one-man team" Mike admittedly has managed to throw one or two decent passes, only to make the mistake of having them hit the receiver's hands.
