Need opinions

I'm kinda torn right now, and I need some outside opinions on what I should do.

I want a motorcycle. I already know what kind I want.

I have a (used) car (that I absolutely love) that cost's a lot more than the (new) bike I want.

Should I sell the car, pay off that loan and get another loan for the bike...

    --OR--

Keep the car until it's paid off and THEN buy the bike?

Edit: BTW, I still have my Ranger.

What kind of guns do you see being invented in the next 50 years? I was thinking about this earlier, guns really haven't changed in a long, long time. Do you think the technological aspect has hit its peak? Or do you think that they will keep changing?

A friend has a .260 Rem for sale, its chambered in a Remington. The gun is about 95% condition, but he's keeping the scope. The price is very reasonable I was wondering if the gun is popular? And if ammo is easy to come by?I dont have the Dies Bullets or Brass to reload. It would be mostly used in inclement weather for Varmit hunting.I just dont want to buy a gun that may become obsolete. Thanks in advance!

Keep the car if you don't have another incase it rains, snows, sleets, ect. Cycles are cool, but you can't really use them all the time like a car.

Keep the car and when you get paid, pay yourself first. Soon you will have saved enough for the bike.

Another nasty thought, riding your bike in golf ball sized hail. Ouch![B)]

Sell the car and pay your bills off.
Then buy the bike you want.
At the current price of gas you can save a lot of money riding everday.

My V10 truck gets 10 MPG or less and I was putting 75.00 in the tank twice a week and so that is 150.00 a week.
I have been riding my bike solid for the last 2 weeks and I have spent a grand total of 36.00 so that would make 18.00 per week oppossed to the 150.00 in my truck saving me 130.00 per week. I think that is an awesome amount of savings.

And like you said if you need to drive a vehicle you have your ranger.

    the car is a need
    the bike is a want
take care of your needs and then you can play with your wants

Agreed. However, if your Ranger is fairly dependable(which they usually are) then it may make more sense to have the truck and a bike. Just out of curiosity what kind of bike you looking at?

Live fast, love hard, die young, and leave a good looking corpse.

    Get the bike.

You never know when extreme badness or death will strike you. If you leave this world next month, do you want your epitaph to read: "He was prudent" ??

Don't listen to these guys! They're all rich! Pay off the car, and any other debts you owe. Start saving your money to buy the motorcycle. By the time you've saved enough, you'll be too old to enjoy it.[:D]
Seriously, do what ever your wife says, that's what I do. If you don't have a wife, get one. You'll have all the opinions you will ever need.[B)]

Take a basic rider's course first, then buy a 2000-3000 dollar starter bike so you don't have to worry about dropping a new bike, have lower insurance, and so you can learn how to maintain your own ride. Get yourself something in the GS750 to GS800 range, or an older CB900 will treat you right.

Plus if you go the GS route, you can always give it to me when you're tired of it.

...if the car is your only transportation, keep the car, don't sell it.

...Keep the car and pay it off, then if the "bug" is still with you, go for it, but keep the car. Don't put yourself in the position of "only" a bike for transportation, not wise...[;)]

Even if it it's a $300-$500 dollar hit for the sale of the car, I would have a hard time doing it. Keep the car.

NEVER, EVER FINANCE TOYS. Pay cash or walk.

You are paying interest on an item that is DECREASING in value.

Pay cash after you save up for it.

Go on Ebay and you will find many bikes near you for less than $500.

Build that bike how you want it. I've never paid over $500 for two wheeled transportation and have owned 9 motorcycles over the years.

Scrounging the parts and building it up was...my hobby. Then I broke my back.[V]

Do not get a loan for a motorcycle.

This time of year bikes should be at a premimun. Keep the car. Do your homework on where, how much, ect to buy a bike. Wait until the holidays. If someone wants to dump a bike at the right price before or after Christmas because of money reasons then buy and wait for spring.

Ha! Ha! Now thats funny! Everyone knows you have at least two months without snow.[:0][:0]

Keep the auto, pay it off, then you will be free to buy something even better, maybe one of those new Suzuki Kimo-subbys! Or Hio-wathas! What ever they call those rice burners on steroids.[;)]

What ever you buy make sure is is a lot faster than the bike your bro has so you can embarass him when you feel the need for speed!

Death hovers over your shoulder. Any of us could check out at any time.

Grab the blade in your teeth and go for it.

    Or, be prudent.
