Craftsman Mower Problem

Trying to help a buddy fix a mower problem.Craftsman 26 HP with hydrostat transmission,2 years old.It will go about 100 yards and will quit pulling.Turn it off and let it set about 10 minutes and will do the same again.Installed new belts,same problem.Took it to a mower shop and the tech said the trans was low on fluid and topped it off.Got home,same problem.Engine runs fine.Any ideas? Thanks

  pump. actually the trans is a pump of sorts
