    But I gotta give it to John Madden. He played the game, He was insrumental in the best Computer game simulation. He Coached winning teams. He Still is an amazing fount of Knowledge, and still is teaching and promotine the game. I think he must have the longest career in the Sport. Surely he has had the most varied and extensive career.

    I Really respect him, and wish there were others like him, but there are none.

    I liked Roger the dodger and Bob Lilly i met them both as a young lad when they brought their lawnmowers in my dads repair shop back in the day.Both did'nt act stuck up or better then everyone else.

    Brett Favre...The Comeback Kid. I also liked Walter Payton,Barry Sanders and Doug "To Short" Flutie. Surprised nobody said John Elway, Jerry Rice or Steve Young... So many its hard to choose 1...

    John Elway. Put him on Joe montanas teams and he would have went undefeated in the super bowl for 9 or 10 years.

    Only guy I've seen with as much heart is Brett Favre.

    I was pretty young but did get to see Payton, he was sur esomething. I'm still pissed about the super bowl td they gave to that fat worthless Perry. Also, Barry Sanders was amazing, and Bo Jackson was incredible.

    Barry Sanders for pure enjoyment of watching him play, left too early

    Brett Favre has won the big games, great toughness, great personality on and off the field

    John Elway hands down. What that player did for the game/his team (which nearly always sucked) is unmatched. Not only on a team level was he the best, he (until this season) was the leader in nearly all major FB player categories.

    Barry Sanders was second...he had no team, yet was the best running back to ever play.

    If Tom Brady (or Montana) had the Offensive line and role players that Elway had no one would put them in this conversation.

    Elway kicked extra point, punted, recieved TD passes, and was one of the top running QBs before all of these non-NFl style QBs came in. He is also the most sacked QB in history that tells the story...

    Looks to me that Romo will end up being the most sacked QB of all times, of course you were probably thinking during a game, I reckon. Of course I've yet to see him with a woman with class...

    My brother played against Roger Staubach!
    Not in the NFL.
    In 1966 my brother got a scholarship to Middle Tennessee State University.
    The next year, he was a sub defensive tackle.
    He told me they were playing Pensacola Naval Station. He said that the guy who won the Heisman at Navy was playing there.
    Sure enough, he got in on four or five plays against Roger Staubach.
    I think Pensacola kicked MTSU's ass.
