Best long distance round for rifle.

Opinions. Best long range round for bench shooting. Killing, knockdown power, etc not a factor. Just plain accurate, cheap cost, lower recoil and easy to get. 308 or 22-250 comes to mind what are some others.

  guys,..tbe 168gr load in the 308 will be subsonic at ~800yds. no accuracy against the 6.5mm's. Jason Baney reset the PA 1000yd record with a 6BR[8D] The 6.5mm is where to look for now,...maybe a 6.5Boyd??? courtesy of Boyd Heaten,..A friend of mine and quite a good shooter.
  
  The 6.5mm WSSM with Boyd's modifications make it a super round. BUT you have to handload for any "real" long range shooting. There is no free ride in the 1000yd game

  cgr dont forget the od russian 91 30 it will do 500 yds no sweat, and iv'e heard of some shooting out to 2000 yds
