Eastern Shore

My kids for the most part live on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, in towns with names like Machipango and silly stuff like that. Well, at least one of them does. I'm going for a visit on the weekend of 22 September. I'd be pleased to meet anyone in that area. From there, I'm going to DC to check out the Armed Forces Retirement Home, then I might visit another daughter in Baltimore if she doesn't show up around Cape Charles someplace. Oh, and there's one in Richmond I don't want to miss.

I'd like to meet some of you nuts in that area. Lets discuss it.

    Oldgunner, I live just 15 south of Baltimore on your way down to DC. But that weekend, I'm supposed to be going to Boone, NC, to go trout fishing and such. Hope you have a great time with your kids.

    Live in Central VA, about 30 miles out of Richmond. Have spent time on the "Eastern Shure" (funny local accent. Many of the place names are Indian. Like Wachapregue, Nassawadox, etc. There really ARE 2 towns naked Assawoman. Little Assawoman, and Big Assawoman. Really.

    Yup, familiar with them 11b6r..My kids have lived there since I retired from the AF in 1978. I retired at a Radar Station at Cape Charles.

    I know the territory from Cape Charles, through Exmore, Nassawodox, the whole mess..Them people up there are somewhat different from the rest of the world, but they are fine folks if you know them.

    I'm anxious for a visit. I'll be there on the 22nd.

    i use to jump off of cape charles lighthouse. water ops.[8D]
    im in the va beach area. its 12.00 to cross ches/bay bridge. be ready for it unless you come down the e-shore via d.c..

    Punchie and SWWBO live in Richmond. Look them up, you will not be disappointed. And when I get up that way again, I am gonna look up Reload and may even hunt down GHD just for giggles and grins. Don

    Donnie, we'll just meet you at Swwbo and Punchie's house. Or you all can come over to the other side of the state. Either way, we have got to meet you and your wife and hope to soon!!
