I set up Davenports when I was a kid - yes, electricity had already been discovered.

My Dad owned a machine shop in Cleveland, Ohoho.

When I make grits I put a big tupperware container in the fridge so I can fry slices off it for a week. Ever eat escargot?

No snails, but if you fried them I suspect they would be good.

I set up and operated them, conamatics, hydraulic tracers, engine lathes, mills, hobs, shavers, hones, grinders, cincinatti horiz mills, transfer machines and more than I can name now.

The Davenport is a mechanical marvel, all timed off one power source and able to run all day when handled by a qualified operator. On the other hand, I have a friend who taught himself electronics as a kid and who gets $200/hr fixing computerized crap for the big manufacturers in the Rochester, NY area. A giant step backwards.

Fill their shells up with butter and garlic and broil. Serve with Italian bread and red wine.

I have. Can't say it was terrible, but not my favorite either.

I wouldn't eat anything that could be found crawling around in my garden! Yuk!

I have a Traub screw machine sitting outside in the horse barn. 1" cap. Nothing compared to the big Acme 3" 6 spindles we used to have. Dad had a screw machine shop.

    Got Guns?
