A Federal Firearms License for collectors of Curios & Relics.

They are allowed to purchase many firearms more than 50 years old and certain other firearms on a list directly instead of through a "for profit" FFL holder.

Easy to get. Cost $30 for 3 years. Anyone that can legally purchase a firearm can obtain one. Some states don't recognize a C&R license, like Kalifornia.

Look at the "Relic" category on the home page. All these listed firearms are C&R, which means the seller can ship it directly to the residence of a C&R holder,,,no NICS check, no dealer transfer fee.

California does recognise C & R's, but only on long guns. You can, however, buy a C & R pistol out of state, bring it back and register it for $19.00.

But be VERY CAREFUL about getting a C&R license. It will cause you to, oh, at least quadruple the number of guns you buy.[:D][:D][:D]

(Seriously -- the C&R does require that you keep careful "bound book" records on your purchases and disposals. No big deal, but something to think about. Also, it will take a few weeks -- maybe six -- between application and receipt of license.)

You might also consider destroying all of your credit cards.
