And no, I didn't kill him
This fella has been around the place now for almost three years. See him often, sometimes in the yard, or like in the pic, across the road on our haybales. Never seems to bother anything, no missing cats, no dead chickens, he just kinda keeps to himself. It's fun to watch him out in the pasture in the snow, as he dives in to catch mice. He don't bother us, so we don't bother him.

hes pretty cool lookin! Looks like a little guy, do they get much bigger? 0 -
No, he's full grown. He's the same fox we have been seeing around here for three years. How do I know that? Well, look here! I might add that he is wet from the grass and corn as we were lucky enough to get a rain overnight. That is why he looks thin and his tail is not "bushy".

live and let live! I saw him again in your second picture, he looks even cooler! 0 -
"Live and let live."
Good policy to live by.0 -
That notch in his ear is big enough to see from a distance.

That's why I never shoot on our small property. We have deer and a red fox who come up and eat out of a dog dish we put out, a covey of quail we spread scratch corn for, more squirrels than you can imagine (we have a dozen water oaks that produce acrons.) Animals in nature are beautiful.
Now when I go to a hunting area- that 6 pointer is toast. I still love squirrel in gravy with grits, I buy my quail from a breeder to cook since I don't have a pointer any more and am getting to old to follow a dog. The best times of my life were hunting pheasant in the midwest. You guys who live there are so lucky. [^][^]0 -
Cool looking fox.
They definately are fun to watch.0 -
Life is great here. The older couple who live across the road own 365 acres of land. Half is tillable, the other is trees and pasture. No hunting allowed-period. So we have a nature preserve right across the road from us. And the wildlife know it too! All the deer around here end up over there during deer season. The hunters hate it because they all know they can't hunt it. I love it, as most the deer cross my pasture to get over there[:D]! No doubt you know what that means!![;)]

we dont have to many problems with the fox around here. most people let them be. its the coyotes that the farmers are having all the problems with. 0 -
We don't seem to have a problem with the coyotes around here. I hear them every now and then, but have never seen one on the place. Tried to call some in a few times, but just ended up with a cold butt. Here's a pic we shot out our front door last winter/spring. About 45 yards away.
Is that cool or what?!!

Plenty of wildlife here in the sticks too. Yote, Fox. Bobcat, etc. Starting to see quite a few more Bald Eagle too. Bears and hogs too. Even Armadillo have been migrating in here for the past 10yrs. We have groups that hunt the Yotes year round, so seldom do they just play in the field out front. 0 -
This guy was hanging out in my back yard most of last summer.

We've had baldies, on the ground, within 75yd of the house.0 -
I see a Fox fairly often as I drive to work late at nite in Tulsa. He seems to live somewhere in the are of Memorial Drive and Hwy 11 near the airport. 0 -
Yea. he's saying if I just had a liitle more help I'd eat that dunbass over there with that camera!!!! 0 -
Spryor, if your'e gettin' 'dillos, start shooting. They are a menace. I reccommend a large caliber pistol round (.357,.41,.44) or a 12 gauge with #4 shot or larger. They explode just like watermelons when hit.[8D]
Suskers will hole up your property.0 -

hey guns i now a couple of guys that would shoot it just because along with a porcupine among other thing just because.0 -
When I was growing up, a buddy rescued a fox pup after it's whole family has been hunted down. So he raised it almost like a pet of some sort, I don't know or remember much of details, but after seeing him hanging around all the time and playing in the yard I don't think I could shoot one. I think it finally went into its natural habitat once it grew up or was taken there since some neighbors chickens were mysteriously disappearing. 0 -
i agree . why would want to kill something that causes you no harm , sounds like he is actually helping you by getting rid of the rodents 0 -

Be carefull about handling them. Dillo's are carriers of Leprosy. Slight risk, but still a risk. Who needs that nasty disease?0 -
Well, where I grew up, people who had chickens and some such, had problems with foxes. But it's such a rare occurrence since there was abundance of wild life for foxes to hunt and they actually did steer clear of people, that I only heard of one case when someone shot a fox actually catching it in the act.
Well, to each his own, some people torture animals for fun. Some kids in the neighborhood used to catch a feral cat and set it on fire, all for fun. Wonder what kind of psychos grew out that bunch...0 -
a fox can be a gardeners best friend. 0 -
I asked him to get off my house.
So he did.

Early this spring I spotted abunch of fox kittens in my ditch near the house. We've seen Mama fox a few times running around. They must have moved on, because I haven't seen her for a couple of months. I liked having them around for rodent control.
I too have a friend who will shoot about anything for fun. I am always on him about it. The worst part is he is Native American and suppose to be a steward to the land. He's definately not.0 -
I don't find foxes nearly as disagreeable as coyotes. 0 -
