NO GUNS AT WALLY WORLD 1 MAR 07
I went there yesterday. Not all Wal-Marts will stop selling firearms on 1 March, but a majority will. I even called 1-800-wal-mart to confirm this. If this bothers you, please call and NICELY voice your opinion.

It's nothing to do with an anti gun policy. It's a decision based on profitabilitly of the departments by area and store. No great loss anyway. 0 -

The real problem is...Most of the Wal-mart employes can't even read English. If ya wants to buy a gun there, talk spanish. Then you can prolly do it. be careful though..Be weally quiet..Don't let anyone know you're American.... 0 -
A few days after Christmas I used my holiday moolah to buy a Marlin 60 at a local gun store instead of at Wally World even though I paid roughly $30 more. Why? Because the local gun store was very knowledgeable and patient with me, has sold me and my wife a few guns in the past and because as many of the W-M stores were discontinuing guns, I did not want to buy it from them with possibly no recourse afterwards. 0 -

Why the bloody hell would you buy your guns from a place like Wal Mart? You need to support local dealers by giving them business, or the industry will collapse. Wal Mart has never sold handguns, only long guns. And what happens if you have a mechanical problem with your gun? You think you're going to be able to take it back and give it to a "gunsmith" who works for Wal Mart? "Oh, is that a guy carrying a gun case through the store?" And when you get to the cashier "Excuse me, do you have any employees who are armorers?" Come on.
Ammo sure. Guns, absolutely not. They can't even special order something for you. They supposedly did this not because they hate guns, but because they weren't making much money off of them. Furthermore, they don't want to get caught up in legal processes they know nothing about. This isn't in an effort to attack the industry... it is just a decision on their part.0 -

Had a conversation about this recently and it happened an ATF agent overheard and added his take on it. In a nutshell (pun intended) the "morons behind the counters do such a bad job that the ATF can count on being able to lay a good fine on Waly World everytime they show up. Doesn't take long before management takes the easy way out and just stops seling firearms.
Not at all interested in doing business with Wally World in the first place. Won't be long before you will need to speak spanish there to make yourself understood.0 -
Personally, I think it is too bad. They are the only ones to give the outrageously expensive and incompetent gunshops around here any competition. Now the gunshops will probably raise their prices even more. And the gunshop employees are no more knowledgeable or nicer to deal with than the Walmart employees are. I was in one shop just last Friday, a customer was looking at a Sig P232 (.380, but Sig labels as 9mm Kurz). The customer had no idea what caliber it was and asked the employee. Employee told the guy it was a 40 necked down to 9mm. I told the customer the truth and the employee got real peeved off. I have heard so much wrong info given to customers in gunshops it is just ridiculous. And I have seen so many women being taken advantage of in gunshops, they come in to buy a gun and the employee (who works on commission) steers her right to the highest priced gun in the counter and tell her that is the gun she needs, no matter that she can barely reach the trigger. So, I have no affection for gunshops. 0 -
I hate to see gun sales being stoped anywere, even walmart. I know of three of them within 60 miles from me that will keep firearms sales, the rest are looseing them. The frist handgun I bougt was from walmart. A mark ll ruger. 0 -

That stinks. I live in Humble just barely outside the beltway and the local one right next to the house still sells them, and for great prices also. I bought a rifle there just recently for half of what the idiots and Carters Country wanted. Personally I can't stand the people are Carters Country.0 -
Well, it's all very interesting. The dealers in my 6000 population community are so excited. Yesterday, I priced the Mini-30 at a dealer two blocks from my house: $768.00!!!!! Over a one hundred dollar difference.... It's all ok in the end...we die..and then go to heaven! I guess the goal in to die free, but I sometimes wonder. The State of the Union is on. Great President, Great Country! America!!!! I LOVE IT!!! 0 -

I take it from your screen name that you hunt with a bow and arrow - yes? There was another poster here at one time who was an avid bow and arrow hunter, among other things, but he's no longer a member.

Welcome to the forums. What type of bow do you shoot. I went on a archery bear hunt a few years back. That was a blast. Nothing better than taken a gun to a range for a day and going into the woods with my bow in hand.[:)]0 -

God I still wish I had my FFL and was in the biz. I knew this day would come and it just might help to save what is left of the independent FFL business owners. Remember this li'l factoid, something like 300,000 FFL holders in the 80's and 90's down to less than 50,000 by the mid to late nineties. More dealers, more competition = lower prices!
Guns, get em, got em, GOOD!
There will be a day soon when you will NOT have this option.
