    I love it.
I was just reading about the 844 on Union Pacific's website. They don't have the schedule of appearances filled out for 2008 yet.

    Right, I'm just funning you.

That movie gives a real good insight on how railroading was done back in the day. Very accurate.

Thanks for sharing the great picture, I love those old trains.

Quick story that still stirs my heart...... I lived in North Little Rock, Arkansas very near the major UP shops. I was home from Vietnam, just started college and newly wed. The UP rr was having a big campaign involving a working steam locomotive on a national tour and it was coming to NLR. Turns out, this great old engine was pulled down an old, abandoned track that happened to end near a big city baseball park so the crowds could come see it. This old track was two houses down the street from my house and I got to spend a lot of time around that old engine, even got to watch them refire it when it came time to leave town. This was in 1973 and left a vivid print in my heart and mind.

Awesome, I love trains I would love to ride the one here from Martinsville Va. to Bristol Va. They used to sale tickets once a yr and let you ride an old steam engine train but the stopped doing it. They all tell me the steam engines could pull alot more than the electric diesel generated engines today? Thanks for the cool pics, if I were on board I would hope to be in the first car because of the smoke.

Yes it's a tool car. I don't know the name of it now. And don't the loco look nice without the aux. yellow turbine tender behind it?
