UFO over S. Dak?
An unidentified object was seen streaking across the sky this morning around 8 o' clock. People from Sioux Falls all the way to Rapid City were able to see the object in the sky. And we were able to catch it on three of our Skycams this morning in Sioux Falls, Chamberlain and Rapid City.
A day's worth of calling around to different government entities including the FAA, NASA and Ellsworth Air Force Base. Most people refused to comment or didn't call us back regarding the object. However, there were a few that were willing to look at it for us.
Those scientists thought it could be anything from an airplane, an old satellite or some other space junk, or even a Chinese rocket that was launched yesterday. We have nothing confirmed yet, but we do have alot of people continuing to investigate the object. And will be sure to update you if we find out anymore information.

Doug,this tv station covers our whole state, they have sky cameras on top of radio towers in four....(i think) towns across the state ...Rapid City being the farthest west Chamberlain in in the central part of the state near me and Sioux falls is in SE part of the state...fars as going east to west or west to east .....i don't know 0 -

oh those colorth! (ugh!) they could have went with a periwinkle or mauve, but orange??0 -
Doesn't seem like anything NASA or other space-expeditions would do - they want to break out of the athmosphere.
Too slow for a meteor or shooting star. (it keeps it's straight trejectory)
I bet it's not military though - or some General is going to get fired for blowing the cover and showing the world.
That stuff is usually sealed up pretty tight or tested way out of view of most people - not glowing all over the sky across an entire country.
I'm thinking it perhaps could be one of the high altitude passenger-experimentations.
You know, those projects where you can cross from one end of the earth, to the other, in just a few hours.
That's supposed to be up in 2.5-3 times as high as any passenger jet can - and last I read about it, they were exploring the use of SRB's (SolidRocketBoosters) or something similar to that effect.
Perhaps even one of the projects of shuttling people into space - the projects where they get a price of 10-50-100 million dollars (don't remember which..) for reaching space in an economic way.

I saw the one by Garritys. It was a HUGE orange fireball or light in the sky.0 -
