Movie "Smoking Aces" Anti-gun?
Wife and I saw goofey movie Smoking Aces. Pretty stupid as it was merely a seemingly endless numbers of goofey scenes that were nothing but sit-ups for the movie characters to act tough, crazy, weird, murderous, and do a lot of shooting and killing, etc. But one part got my attention. It was a small black woman using a .50 BMG rifle.
Up until recently, as the anti-gun crowd has tried to ban the .50 BMG rifle (and suceeded in Calif and maybe other places) the anti crowd has complained about how the .50 can be used by terrorists and can be used to shoot down airliners, etc. The pro-gun people have tried to fight back by saying that the .50 is a large, heavy and expensive rifle not suited for crime or for terrorism. It is so big that it is hard to hide and it is so expensive that the average criminal won't/can't spend the money to buy one (could always steal one if they could find one I guess) The pro-gun people have also stressed that generally not one .50 has ever been used in a crime in the USA.
Well in the movie I feel the Hollywood producers purposely inserted scenes that did little or nothing to further the movie but did have the effect of "demonizing" .50 BMG rifles. For some reason one of the young, small black women (one member of a two member black women hit team) insists on bringing her .50 BMG rifle to Las Vegas to help her partner with the hit. For some reason they set up the .50 in a hotel across from the building where the hit is going to take place. During setting up the .50, the other hit woman says something like "why'd you bring that? Are you planning on shooting down an airliner?". The shooter merely smirks and laughs. Later the shooter for some unknown reason starts heavily shooting up the entire floor in the building across the street where her partner is that is actually doing the hit. She just shoots the crap out of things with the .50 and of course no one in her building apparently ever hears anything and call police or security, etc. And then this small black woman finds a need to grab up her .50 and run down the halls with it down to a lower floor and setup and start shooting the bababooey out of the same building across the street. Never did understand exactly what she was trying to accomplish with all that shooting.
But my point is that the movie appeared to try and turn even more people against anyone owning a .50 and also made it appear even a small woman could handle a .50 very well and even grab it up like it was an AK-47 and run with it etc.

I of course agree. I just would prefer that Hollywood not push propaganda (pro-gay, pro-illegal immergrant, anti-gun, anti-self defense, Democratic party, etc) while they are making billions from stealth propaganda.0 -

I agree. Hollywood has a lot of influence with the "swing voters" people who have no understanding of guns or the fact that people can own them and not kill others. [:0][:0]
They make tons of money by making more and more violent movies. Always the gun is the evil tool killing incoent people. It creats an emotional block with some people against firearms.[:0]0 -
