Yep, driving truck, maybe I'll make the news this trip[8D] Getting paid triple what the military makes, well once you add in the benefits that the military gets and all the other perks, we are working for less, seriously. If Daddy Bush and Bill Clinton would not have chopped the military like they did KBR would still be there but not in the numbers they are, the military is undermanned and thaqt is why we are there, get used to it.
Eric, my move to Montana will not happen without some more time in the sandbox. This job generates quick cash and that is what I need to make the move.
Also there are some on here that know me quite well and they will tell you my love for the military is my sole drive for being there, the money is nice but having the opprotunity to work with the US Military in this deal in Iraq has me beaming with pride. Most of the soldiers and Marines we work with like having us there but there are some who only look at the paychecks and don't like us, ohh well I still treat even those who do not like us with the highest respect possible.0 -

Lonnie my youngest just volunteered to extend his stay over there so he could get a Team Leader position. I don't know who he is being transferred to at this time but he will be up in the Diyala Province. I'll try to get some more info from him as soon as he gets home here for his R&R this week and then if you get up that way maybe you can look him up. 0 -

Good luck, and stay safe. I worked for KBR from 98 through 04 in the onshore E&C group. Made many overseas trips but none to Iraq. No matter what is said in the media I believe it is an honest company and now that KBR has split from Halliburton I expect KBR will pick up even more work. Not like they need any more.
I received a call from my old boss a couple weeks ago and am considering heading back to Houston. The E&C group is covered up with work and looking for people to try and staff the projects they have.

nothing against you and making triple then what the troops make. I admire what you do. In all honesty i wouldnt do it. I just find it crazy that people go over there and do jobs that military people do, and get paid in huge amounts. And i bet you do get paid triple. A private driving trucks over there if hes maried is probably taking home 30k. 0 -
