To paraphrase a Fats Domino song, "Oh how I hate black monday, it's the lousiest day of the year....." Rather ironic since Fats has a rather dark suntan.

And if it wasn't for a couple of those white presidents, that black american would not have had the opportunity to make the "improvements" he supposedly made. What the hell kind of word is "prejudgism"? Sounds like a feeble attempt at ebonics or some such other non language. I absolutely agree that no one should suffer because of the color of his skin but I also believe that no one should be favored because of it either. When I was in college the only ethnic group that ever caused problems consistently, were the blacks. A great lot of them felt the rules did not apply to them. You can call me racist or whatever but I will tell you this, if Condelleza Rice would run for president, I would actively support her. Some folks are worth promoting and some should have been shot before they were. When you start supporting me and mine so we can live any way we want with no strings attached, then you can tell me to lighten up. Until then, I will lighten up if and when I CHOOSE! Hey, you don't need to tell me about the black kids causing problems - I was there when they started busing. Things went downhill really quick.
But neither do I sit there and complain like some infant with a full diaper about MLK Day. MLK Day and Black History Month do not come with a large check and a free car for being black. If anything, it's a meaningless gesture that says a lot, but does nothing.
So rather than get your panties in a wad, sit back, relax, take a deep breath, and rather than say, "Support me too," just be glad that you don't need it.0 -
I was a police officer back in the late 60's when Martin Luther King was traveling around the country stirring up trouble.
More people, mostly blacks, were killed during that period than for the rest of my career. He would come into a community and urge the people to riot, loot and burn their homes down. Then he would get into his limousine and drive off into the sunset leaving his people with no hope for the future. He simply was a racist!!!!!
King was no hero, he was not a peace maker and he does not deserve a holiday named after him.........all of the black police officers that I worked with, cleaning up the mess he left behind, would agree.
It might not be PC to speak against him, but the truth must be told to those who were not yet born during his time. History must not be distorted!
There are many fine people of color in our country and I am proud to have some of them as my friends. I hope they feel the same about me.
One in particular (a neighbor) used to talk about things with me as I walked my dog around the block near my home. His name was Edward Pierson. He was a baritone with the N Y Metropolitan Opera. He was the first black to sing the lead solo with the Morman Tabernacle Choir's performance of the Messiah.
He gave me the tape of that night and I will treasure it for the rest of my life.

I still don't agree with it.
And I actualy say this as a person who is not technicaly white. I happen to be mostly Sioux Indian by blood. So if you want to get real technical my people have been craped on more than the blacks have. But I don't agree with all the screaming and free rides that the Native Americans make either.
Bottom line is we are all better off because of the whites settleing this country and we all have the same chances in life to succeed or fail. Nobody needs a special day or month set asside for them.
The blacks being forced into slavery was wrong. But that wrong was righted over a 100 years ago, and there is not one living black in this country that was ever a slave. So why do we owe them anything because of slavery? We don't!
We also don't need any afirmitive action! All that is is favortism by another word!

Bill Cosby is put down for his blatant remarks about the inability of the black race to function in a civilized society. One need only to look at the history of the world to realize that sub-Sahara Africa and pre-colonial Australia are the only areas of the world that has failed to launch an age of discovery, a history of astronomical and industrial knowledge, or a working system of fair laws.
The inhabitants trampled some of the richest terra firma on the planet without publishing a book, crafting a sea-going fleet, or advancing past the stone age. I submit that the inhabitants of these areas are in fact, the missing link between modern man and homo erectus.
Even today, Africa makes no contribution to the world except the natural resourses of the continent.
Only through interbreeding will the bad traits of the jungle (raw lust, savagery, and inability to think logically) be bred out of them. There are exceptions to everything, but most all intelligent blacks thoughout history has been the product of breeding with an Asian or European.
It's just a bloodline that is doomed to extinction because of it's inability to adapt to the changing conditions of the world.
This is no more a slam on blacks than realizing some breeds of dogs are vicious and need to be controlled. It is not PC to talk about this however, but any dialog concerning race relations MUST address this issue to be honest.

I was not yet a police officer but I sure as heel was there when Charlie was and he is right on all counts. I harbor no ill feelings toward Mr. King but he and his entourage mostly did more harm than good. 0 -

was an undercover at USL lafayette La attending classes daily
(narcotics/ Black Panthers and Black Simbas) when King was killed I was called into office and told to keep a close ear, sure enough by 10:30 morning after king was whacked got the rumor that the blacks were going to take down the American flag in front of the deans office
at 3:00 pm and burn it. Was told to take camera and get evidence. went to 2nd floor of admin bldg. for a good place for pictures w 4oo mm long lens; at 2:00pm about 30 or forty white boys from ag and ROTC
surrounded the pole. (wish i would have kept the pictures) then all the pukes started arriving; war portesters, longhairs, dope smokers,
blacks and a guy named LEON PANETTA. there were approx 150 total people Majority Black.. anybody want to guess what happened.
NOTHING but a lot of tuff talk from the crowd of losers

My sentiments exactly. Then again, I think "Black History Month" is contrary to the work of MLK. MLK did not promote the celebration of diversity--that which makes Americans DIFFERENT. He promotoed the celebration of that which we all have in common--A DREAM. The American Dream. That which makes us similar is what will unite us as a country--not what makes us different (i.e. "diversity"). Anyone who has a problem with this probably has a problem with Kwaanza as well. It doesn't hurt anyone and I don't see any "uppity negroes" walking around putting it in my face like I'm a second-class white man with a burden on my back because of it.
To all my fellow white folks that really have a problem with MLK Day or Black History month--get a life. Honestly. Who does it hurt?0 -

Skin color has nothing to do with it. Feeling that the government owes you a living and wanting something for nothing has everything to do with it. A man should suffer if he breaks the law! Explain to me why Blacks are vastly overrepresented in the incarcerated populations of the US? Don't try the old poverty breeds crime crap either. There are plenty of other ethnic groups that choose to WORK themselves out of poverty.0
