Portuguese police are now working on the assumption that Madeleine McCann was abducted "to order" by an international pedophile network, after narrowing the focus of their six-day investigation.
Detectives have now discarded a range of other possibilities, including the theory that the British toddler could have walked out of her Algarve hotel room by herself or was kidnapped for adoption, Portuguese newspapers have reported.
"Everything points to a kidnapping," a person close to the investigation told Correio da Manha, adding that police were now exclusively investigating the possibility that she had been captured by a child abuse network. Police sources quoted anonymously by several other local newspapers said the same thing.
Citing local laws, Portuguese police have refused to speak publicly about the state of their investigation. But recent moves have pointed to a renewed focus on international pedophile networks.
British officers specializing in child abduction cases have flown out to the Algarve. One of them, Detective Superintendent Graham Hill, is a veteran of missing child investigations and was one of the senior detectives in the hunt for 13-year-old Milly Dowler, who vanished in March 2002. Her body was found in September that year, left in countryside in Hampshire. No one has ever been charged with the murder.
Hill, who has been working for the Britain's Child Exploitation and Online Protection Center, was also a senior investigator in the hunt for Antoni Imiela, the serial rapist jailed in 2004 for attacks including five in Surrey. British detectives have also handed their Portuguese counterparts a list of people on the UK's sex offenders register who have travelled recently to the country.

Few things raise a killing rage in me like the words, "Pedophile Network"
I'm a pretty happy-go-lucky, Live-and-let-live kinda guy. But this story strikes a fear in me that I just don't have the words to describe.0 -

For some reason this story makes me think of how little regard, caring or feeling most Muslim men have for children and women. Even their own children and women. So they have even less feelings for those who are not their own children and women.
I couldn't help but think about that when thinnking about what cold, cruel, sadistic and plain evil people must be who would be part of a pedophile network.0 -

You can't use the word "most" here at all. Our perception is that "most" Muslims are this way. Certainly, "some" are that way. In "most" Muslim families, and most mid-eastern cultures, the family is the basic building block of society. Much more so than in OUR society. Family is honored above all. Just another misconception that is perpetuated by our blind eye toward other cultures.
Oh, and Hobbyguy, you are not alone. I don't care for lima beans either. Or english peas, now that you mention it! [:D]0 -

My observations have shown me that in "most" Muslim cultures, only the male "family" member is "honored above all". Perhaps if others care to, they can share their observations.
Although this topic was orginally about a pedophile network, I could not help but be struck by the fact that from my observations Muslims generally care little about their women and children. I was struck by the fact that apparently, at least in regards to caring little about the children, those mentioned Muslims and the pedophile network share a common feeling of coldness and callousness towards children. If I am wrong in this thought, please someone correct me.0
