Ka Bar's LE Knives
I was looking at a few knives the other day, then realized that my brother's birthday is in a few months. So I decided to take a look at these style knives, he has said something about wanting one. He's going to college for Law Enforcement, going to be a State Trooper.
I thought one of these would be pretty cool for him. He collects knives here and there, nothing really too expensive. Anyone know much about them or have one?

Don't know much about those, but whatever you decide to get him, make sure it has a partially serrated blade like the one you have pictured. Comes in handy when needing to cut seatbelts.[;)] 0 -
I have one of the first models--the shorter one for behind-the-duty-belt carry. I personally liked the principle of having a very serious tool available on the off-hand side of the body to help in weapon retention. I have NO complaint with the knife itself, but the sheath's belt loops are awkwardly situated and difficult to use, in my opinion...thus I have not used it for its intended purpose. Perhaps an alternative or custom-made sheath will solve my problem. Alternately, I have considered looking into the ankle-carry version, which I believe the one you have pictured actually is, but it will not likely meet the requirement of a weapon-retention aide. 0 -

Take a look at the Cold Steel AK-47. They probably have the strongest locking mechanism on the market...and that is critical in a fighting knife. 0 -
