    "no I'm not"
"do I have to call your father?"

I've always wondered, if your weapon is properly concealed ... how does anyone know you are carrying?

... and if anything did happen, such as a school shooting or a terrorist take-over, and you prevent it ... will you still be prosecuted?

Things that make you go ... hummm ...

Of course you would be prosecuted after the smoked cleared. You can save the lives of 50 babies from being eaten raw from human flesh eating terrorists, but if you do it with a gun, you are as guilty as the terrorists. There are those who will go to great lengths to see that you will die a horrible death and at the same time be calling the ACLU to complain that you used accessive force in dealing with the terrorists. Most states don't allow possession of a gun on school property or under very limited circumstances. We don't always agree with laws and do our best to change them to our benefit but, as responsible gun owners, we must obey the existing laws or face the consequences. I can only surmise that the reporter was the arrogant, pushy type who felt his press credentials put him above everyone else. He found out otherwise.

The regulations in my town read no firearms permitted within 1,000 feet of school property. The problem is that three of the major roads leading to the surrounding mountains go right passed schools. (15mph) So, during hunting season or just going to go shooting, you are in violation of this law. No one has ever been fined or even stopped for breaking this law, however. Sometimes, common sense prevails.....[:)][:)]

...Where is the 0'mighty ACLU filing a suit challanging the legality of this asinine law??

...Oh that's right, the ACLU is too busy supporting child perv's/trying remove "God" from EVERYTHING and trying to undermine/wage war against AMERICA to the best of their liberal socialist ability. I can see their just too busy to defend trivial things THAT do NOT fit their liberal socialist/leftist agenda, such as the 2nd..[;)]

How is he above the law, he violated policy and got arrested just like anyone else..Being above the law he would not have been bothered or the police would have just looked the other way.

I cant count the number of people in here that say they will carry wherever they want, when they want, are they above the law to?

It is a stupid law, to not let a legally licensed person to carry their protection no matter where they are..

This is very common. It is also very common for residential properties to be within that 1000 feet (about 3 blocks). Most but not all areas usually have allowances for those residential areas and for secured weapons when someone is driving by.

...or driving on school property...I know of several states where it's ok to have the firearm in your vehicle, but you cannot carry it concealled on your person, outside of the vehicle.

    Does Vermont prohibit that?

My understanding is they have no concealed weapons law requiring a permit.

    Just curious.

I think it should only be an issue if he displayed or used it improperly. Even the "display of" would likely fit in the "keep and bear arms" definition of the constitution.

That's why 'who the next president is' will be so important. The supreme court may rule on a 2nd amendment case in the near future. Get people out to vote. Both in the primary and general elections.

    -Spider

Just like the Founding Fathers did.

In my view, we must obey the Constitution.

I'm one of the ones that carries, regardless of what local regulations say. My obligation is to a Higher Authority: my Oath.

In OryGun, we can carry on school property, with a CHL.
