Was it MD or DC that pass a copy cat AWB from Calif??

If so the Colt AR15 Target Heavy Barrelled Sporter is the only exempted AR15 on the list.

If you want one, get it now!

Before the new law is on the books!!

You can always sell it out of "Liberal" states to like KY,TX etc..

I have been wanting a Colt AR15 (traditional vietnam style) for awhile but now am kind of scared to get it. I live in MD and there is a good chance they'll pass some sort of rediculous new gun law soon. If we could afford it, we'd move to VA.

I am not sure what happened in CA when they started passing these laws. Did they come get the guns, let you ship them out of state or grandfather them (or something else)?

    How about a nice Colt SP-1 AR-15?
I'll be listing one in the next day or so!!

I would assume that existing owners would be exempt under a grandfather clause.

maybe a period to either register or send out of state. if registered, future transfers of it will likely be restricted, sorta like NFA stuff.

    At least, thats my guess.

You are rational to have such worries. I share such worries. Just make sure you are spending some of your time, effort and money on joining up with and supporting at least one of the pro-gun rights groups who desperately need our help in the fight to try and save our gun rights.

If you don't know, I reside in the Kalifornia Republic I still have all my pre-ban Ar's and it can be a pain at times with newbie LEO'S at the range. I just keep a copy of the ATF REG. in the butt stock. I never have had any of them yanked yet.

Man, it sickens me that the newbie LEO come after you basically because of the way your rifle looks and not because of really any other important difference between your AR and other similar rifles. I myself would not be more unhappy if I was shot by some criminal with a 5.56 semi-auto compared to a pump action, bolt action or even a single shot. It is the bullet and what it can do that I fear when the gun is aimed at me. The type or action type of the gun aimed at me has little interest to me at the time.
