Cabela's on I-70 at I-435 (I think) KC, Kansas. I think maybe there is one Dixon's Chili parlor left in town. Antiques? Brass Armadillo mall on 70 E. or drive north to Weston. The guy to ask is NOTPARS, you might drop him an e-mail and blame it on me, he gets here kind of irregularly. Good guy and knows the area. Dan Little may be able to help too.

a must see in kansas city is the museum for the steamship Arabia. the museum has a huge conserved display of recovered artifacts from the sunken ship [ sank sept.1859 carried 200 tons of goods] that was excavated from a farms field that was once part of the Missouri river. the quanity, quality, and vast array of goods is mind boggeling . it will really show what our forfathers used, and needed to survive on their trek west . time well spent, Bob

Actually, ignore most of the plugs for various BBQ joints. They are usually OK, but are WAY over hyped.

The one BBQ place you should try is Oklahoma Joes. Best in the world.

    You should try:
Standing on the corner, 12th Street and Vine
    With your Kansas City baby
And a bottle of Kansas City wine

I had it on my calender to go and then work came up and prevented me. I salute and appreciate those of you who did. Are you somehow associated with Patricia Stoneking?

I must admit that I am somewhat tired of the demands placed on us citizen gun owners. When wanting to protect our gun rights, we basically have to physically show up in the legislative buildings to provide a show of force. I rarely see the anti-gun side having to do that. Nor do I see the local rich, powerful and politically connected people having to physically provide a show of force in order to get their demands recognized.

There has to be a better way. Any ideas?

Well alright then. You are on for dinner for when you come to KC. You don't have to buy mine for me. If I had a bigger house, or a house with fewer people living in it, I would invite you to stay with us. When you are ready to leave for KC I will email you with my telephone number.

The KS legislators had a hearing on the proposed bill that would finally put a stop to the destrictive laws passed by a few KS towns outlawing CCW on ALL CITY PROPERTY. Not only is this unfair, but it violates the state CCW law AS WELL AS THE FIREARM LAW PRE-EMPTION BILL PASSED LATE LAST YEAR.

Depends on if you are talking KC Kansas or KC Misouri!

    Both states have different laws.

You will be stayin in K.C., MO. Missouri recognizes many other states CCW license, with the usual and common restrictions.

Same with if you go into Kansas with the EXCEPTION of the fact that a few KS towns and cities have decided to get sneaky and tricky and they have passed their own law prohibiting CCW on city property. Leawood, KS, right across the MO/KS state line is one such city. This restriction includes parks, "greenways" (whatever that is. Golfcourse?) and probably other city places. The progun people are working on trying to get this dishonest perversion of KS CCW law stopped and reversed . But in the mean time, watch out. I believe I understand that everyplace CCW is prohibited must have the infamous sign with the picture of the handgun with a red circle and slash.
