gun control gun control gun control
so yesterday I walk down to my old job do visit my old boss and see if he wants to go to lunch. Hadn't talked to him in a month or two. Nice guy, smart, reasonable, congenial. Lo and behold, he starts up on the Salt Lake City shooting (he's from Utah) and wanted to know what I thought about it since he knows I'm a gun guy and gun-rights supporter. He, on the other hand "supports" a person's rights to own guns but doesn't have one himself and questions if we've drawn the line in the right place regarding freedom, constitutional guarantees and security. We've had a lot of these discussions before and he's a fun guy to talk to so I didn't mind that I didn't get to eat lunch for another hour+ because of this conversation.
Then today at my present job, I'm checking the forums and posting about something when a current co-worker looks over and see "gunbroker" and asks if I'm buying a gun or something. Lo and behold it leads to another "why do people need assault rifles" diatribe etc. and yet more headaches for me.
What I need is this: a show-stopping rhetorical zinger to put a quick end to these inane conversations. I'm not looking to change their opinions or get them to join the NRA (the people I get into it with are MUCH too set in their ways to be convinced with mere things like facts and common sense), I just need an ultra-witty retort to shut them the hell up and leave me alone.
Any suggestions?

Alright, maybe that wouldn't be so good to use at work.
Next time someone asks why you need an evil black gun, stop immediately - grab a hold of their arm and say in serious hushed tones - "Now more than ever it's imperative we all be ready. The next attack could come at anytime."
And they'll say, "You're that concerned with terrorists?"
(now grab them and pull them closer)...
"Democrats."
or "zombies!"[:D][:D][:D][:D]0 -
Tell them to take their anger at guns and vent them at the corner drug dealer, gang banger or other violent criminals and to leave you alone until they and their anger have eliminated such criminals from society.
Then, and only then, should they direct their anger at you and me and other peaceful, lawful gun owners.0
