...and, you got her (clerks) name, time, and date...and contacted who??

...If you did not bother with taking five minutes to gather this info, to at least ATTEMPT to report the incident...it should not "SHOCK" you at all.

...That's the problem, most everyone is too apathetic to even attempt to do a damn thing when they wittness something that is illegal/wrong...[;)]

...I just noticed your sig line, apparantly you have decided/sided also with Bush and the others that won't/don't do anything about these illegals...[V]

My dad told me he had to get a "International" drivers' license when he was in Japan for a time (I wonder if it's like that)?

Personally I wouldn't care if dude has a valid license or not. To me it's all about INSURANCE that is going to pay out.

Colt- You're right there's a little irony there if he said nothing/took no action.

The last time I got an international driver's license was a looong time ago, but all I had to do was show my Virginia driver's license, military ID card and take a written test. I think there was a fee involved, but the Navy picked up the tab.

For more years than I can remember, your Social Security Number was also your driver's license number in Virginia, but they changed that because of so much fraud going on. Now they have a unique driver's license number not connected to the Social Security Number. I have one of the last licenses with the SSN and when I renew it will be changed.

I have heard, but don't know to be a fact, that in the near future you'll have to bring a birth certificate or passport to get or renew a Virginia driver's license.

As if either of you deserve any explanation of the action taken or not taken, I'll respond.
The offices of State Senator Joseph Zarelli and State representative Ed Orcutt were contacted on Monday Morning.
I requested an explanation/clarification on the State DMV's policy regarding valid SS numbers as a pre-requisite to obtaining a WA DL or ID.
I'm still awaiting a return call with that information, although I was told that this is a Federal requirement.
It's no secret that the democrat controlled legislatures of WA and OR will do anything possible to make our "neighbors from the south" feel welcomed in our country.
Would you both be happier had I created a scene or shot the place up a little?
And what, exactly, have either of you fine gentlemen done about the brown flood of illegal aliens?
    Less than nothing, I'm sure.[:X]

stanman- I did find it strange that you would take the time to write all of this on gunbroker (the original post), but negate to mention any corrective action taken on your part due to the noticably outspoken line in your signature block.

If you do not find a satisfactory answer to your phone calls, I recomend you get ahold of Congressman Dave Riechert. Hopefully you already know who he is and what a good guy he is.

By the way there really was no need for your negative reaction, we read what you posted, sorry we couldn't however read your mind.

We have had the SS number for DL here in CA for many years. It was supposed to force dead beat dad's into paying their support money by not allowing them to renew their drivers licenses if they fall behind. How effective this program has been is anyones guess.

stanman- For what its' worth I know for certain I never had to present my SS card to get my Washington St. concealed carry permit.

Same with my California concealed carry permit, and my Florida concealed carry permit, and as far as I can tell it won't be required for my Texas permit.

I don't kmow about anybody elses SS card but mine has a sentence at the bottom.
"FOR SOCIAL SECURITY and tax purposes-NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION"
Check yours. (maybe my card is just old)

In WV and Fl you do not have to put your SS# on your DL!
I would ask anyone telling me that "it's a federal requirement" to show me the paperwork from the federal government. (betcha it's a state or local "endrun")

The subject of the original post wasn't ME.
The subject was a state (or federal) policy that appeared to be overlooked when that might favor illegal aliens.
I have not yet recieved an adequate explanation of that policy and saw no reason to comment on my actions to recieve that explanation.
Thanks for the name of Mr. Reichert.
I don't know him and don't remember ever hearing his name.

Here in MO. the DMV has a program called "show me proof" to get your license.
    They require 3 things:
proof of lawful presence= birth cert.
    proof of identity= SSN
proof of residency= utility bill, bank statement, pay check stub

non U.S. citizens= govt. papers that indicate their current status in the U.S.

the last time that I renewed my DL I could not find my SS card before I went to the DMV. I told the clerk that I knew my number but I did not have my card. She refused to issue my new DL without seeing the card. I had to go to the SS office and apply for a new card and then return to the DMV with the receipt I got from the
SS office. What a pain in the a$$!

    Thanks for the update.
I wonder if they registered to vote while they were there?
