That's hard to watch....the guy was grasping at straws. 0 -
That was sooooo refreshing. I have seen too many attorneys stick it to people that I probably will copy this and take it to all the LEO's I know. 0 -
.075%? I saw a lawyer show up in court at least twice that drunk, to defend a fellow on a DWI charge, only the judge didn't make an issue of it. Professional courtesy, I guess. The prosecutor took the drunk home with him and kept him there until he was sober enough to get home on his own.
I doubt seriously that this incident will end his career.0 -
We had a Judge in our court who would frequently show up drunk after lunch.
He was the joke of the court, but no one ever did anything about it.0 -

Oh tangled webs..... here is one for you. I was indirectly involved in the suicide of a lawyer several years back.
I had stopped a young kid for speeding, one of the lawyers sons. He did not have his license or other ID with him. In Cal we can arrest for that, but if we think the person is telling the truth about their identity, we can cite and release.
I believed him, but should not have, as it turns out he gave the name of his brother and the DMV check I ran showed the description matched.. height, weight, hair and eye color.
On court day the lawyer and the son whos name was on the ticket, not the one I stopped, show up. The dad/lawyer tries to pass off this son as the one I gave the ticket to, but I caught him at it and he admitted to the judge what he did.
The judge tells the dad/lawyer he needs to get his own lawyer to answer charges of "contempt of court" for trying to pull a fast one on the court.
Later I get a subpeona for the contempt case on daddy and the day before he is to appear he whacks himself with a handgun to the head. Now, this guy may have had some other "issues", but it was a real coincidence in timing.0 -

That judge makes me want to puke. Talking to the lawyer in the same fashion you'd talk to a 3-year-old. I can just hear her doing the same molly-coddling to some scumbag murderer. 0
