Gun License and Purchace

I am in the market to buy a Colt M-16a4, but don't know what type of license is required to own such a rifle. Also, what age is required to purchase one?

    bushmaster makes a calie legal model, one can walk rite in to the store and buy.it is sort of kooky, it dose not take detachable mags.one must "brake" the rifle in half to load it.it will take 10rd striper clips in this fashion. but calie sucks any way. no offence to you guppy.cool name ya got there. jd

    Oh really? Why is that? Is there any possible loophole (however slight) that would allow me to get one? I'm guessing all this is the same for an M4 Carbine?


    Johnny, tell me more about this. Obviously, i would prefer the "real deal" but just to check it out, I'd like to know more about it. (Yeah, thanks, i like it too.)

    Johny doesn't have a clue about what he is talking about. Class 3 full autos are not legal in California, there isn't a loop hole.

    sorry i didnt know you wanted a full auto.shof is 100% rite im very sorry hope i did not up set any one else.the bushmaster i refer to is semi-auto. it can be viewed at www.bushmaster.com i think.sorry for the fumble team, maby i should sit on the bench for a while. jd
