Shorter auctions make more sense to me because noone bids till the last couple hours anyway. The only advantage of a longer auction is that it is up longer for more people to find.Still they will watch until the last couple of hours before they bid also.

Actually, what you need to know about listing an auction....is WHEN to list it. Time of day and day of the week.....try to gauge when is the highest traffic.

I usually went with Thursday afternoon or Friday...and end on Sunday.

The HK-91 is already gone? [:0][:(]

The longer the auction, the more people get a chance to see it.
They also have more time to loose interest.

Thanks for the advice guys... I was thinking a longer auction may give time for the word to spread amongst those who know what they are, and what they are worth, and want to get one... not sure on the luger, but I think only 550 or so of the TGE Baby Nambus were made.

Pickenup - I put it up, and it got bid up to $2500 (res was 2700) and hte auction ended... then a guy came into the storefront and offered 3500...

Thursdays for a 10 day auction gets two weekends....if its odd ALWAYS go longer because there is a smaller group of people buying those things. Be certain to plug them here and put lots of pictures up with close details especially of the luger.....and get ready for a nightmare wad of e-mails on that one. Even though you may have answered what they are asking in the add....I'm going to bet you get at LEAST 35 e-mails on it.

Word spreads within a couple of hours for the honest to god unique stuff. A week is long enough for most any item. The high dollar stuff has a following that has no need for time to earn the money. Already got it.[;)]

    I just missed Locust Fork's HK. [:(]
I would do the 10 day, like she said.
