The Veterans Disarmament Act has passed! Please write the President and URGE him to veto this bill. Call the Whitehouse as well! Please folks H.R. 2640 is one bad bill...is this going to be the straw that breaks the camel's back????? I think this bill is officially called the "NICS Improvement Act of 2007"

    I couldn't get thru with this E-mail address. Is it correct or do I have some other problem. Trying to get some protests in asap.

    I have called the white house before. The number was in a board game. The question was "If you called ???-???-???? who would pick up?"

    As far as I know/can tell, this has passed the House and is pending in the Senate and after that would need to be signed into law by Bush. Hopefully I'm wrong on its status. Am I?

    Veterans Disarmament Act?

    That's the title but whats it all about?

    Didn't know we had a problem with armed veterans that needed disarmament. Read about folks running amok in malls with AKs and such but though the veterns were behaving themselves.

    Its about reporting people with mental issues basically and the premise is to prevent gun purchases by people with problems, brought about by the tragedy at Va.Tech. but it is so broad it can be used to prevent a lot of people from purchasing. A gun-banners ploy mainly. McCarthy of NY is behind it so you know it is crap. Look up 2640 for better info.

    The text of the bill, as a separate bill (H.R.2640) also introduced by McCarthy, passed the House by voice vote on June 13, 2007.

    The Senate passed it a day or two ago.

    The title of the Bill is the "Nics Improvement Act of 2007"..I THINK.

    I can find damn all little about it...Wagon Wheel is FAR better at this sort of research then I , and I hoped he would weigh in today with his superb touch. Alas, is has not come to pass..

    I see the press is reporting this as a unanimous (As in 100%) vote by the Senate... Surely to God that can't be correct!!!

    Well...I did not hear of Bush vetoing this bill...guess we'll find out how this all plays out...I have the feeling that this is one more huge step in the downfall of our nation. We can hope that the Supreme Court does something about it...
