Mrs. likemhot and I went to lunch after I started the nsfw discussion on better than "remote girl" I came back and was surprised at all the comments, some rated more than "PG" Thanks guys, this was supposed to be fun. Now I feel guilty cause my buds on GB can't behave themselves. Guess I'll have to give away something to make amends to our mod gods. I don't exactly know what it'll be, but you guys deserve whatever you get.
P.S. I have a full bottle of Leiny's Summer Shandy that we could start off as this month's (August's) POOF PRIZE. Put a signage to it and then send it on. You guys know who you are that PEEKED at outdoor girl. On bended knee I ask forgiveness, this will be my penance.
So 'fess up and resend your names you pervs. I'LL pick a name from a nasty, dirty sweaty, scumy, smoke stained fire helmet on 8/15 at 0930.

Well, the posts by bunnyhummper (to me and others) got POOFED. To my knowledge, that was my first ever poofing. Granted, I didn't start the thread but I believe my posts to them contributed to it's demise. I feel like a real GB member now. [:D] 0 -
i just went through a bunch of his first posts. other than on the experts forum, he seemed to be kinda fast to judge and insult in some way. then he changed his sig line to include an apology.

Dont feel bad. I have been poofed several times. I love gunbroker..I have been a member here for a long time, and have purchased several guns here. The constant attempt to make gunbroker politically correct really chap my ass. Dont blame Nunn he has answered alot of questions for me, he is a really good guy and very smart about guns, but he has bosses and they have decided that we are not grown up enough to handle adult topics 0 -
oh...please don't misconstrue what i wrote. i was in no way blaming nunn. he has been more thsn helpful to me since i joined back in november. with his, and others, guideance, i bought my first gun ever, and from here to boot. in my own way i was thanking him. his job (such that i interpret) is to keep the posts as clean as possible (there are some youngin that come here) and protect the integrity of the board by not allowing post that could possible bring about unknown consequences ( libel lawsuits or worse) that could close down the site.

I got my poor feelers all hurted and stuff like that when he showed less than proper awe and respect for my Encore.

It's the owner's and he prefers to not insult large groups of people or risk lawsuits by having forum members post racist comments or jokes, sexual themes, etc. If you want unrestricted commentary there are Internet sites that fit the bill. Please be aware that posting uncomplimentary variations of member's names isn't allowed in general, and I don't appreciate being called pig in particular. My username is SaxonPig, and this may be shortened to Saxon or SP. I do not like to be called pig which is generally considered an insulting term and that's the way I take it.
BTW- Nothing much has changed on this site. The rules have always been the rules and they aren't new. Due to some severe problems that occurred a few months ago we started emphasizing enforcement of the posting guidelines but they have always been in place. What you complain about as being PC many of the rest of us see as simply being polite. Like not using an unflattering form of a member's username.0 -

Gentlemen, there is nothing PC about this site. All we have ever asked is that all members be polite to one another. What does a little politeness cost? Nothing.
Politness is not PC, nor is common courtesy, nor is a little tolerance of another's opinion, even if you find it very disagreeable.
A prohibition against pornography is not PC.
Avoiding insults and name-calling is not PC.
We can still have discussions. We can express our opinions. We can disagree. We just don't have to be mean about it.0 -
