Glendale police Officer Anthony Holly planned to sport his new Harley-Davidson motorcycle this week with his friend Jameson Johnson. The two had planned a weekend trip to Tonto National Forest.

Now the close friends won't have that chance.

Holly, 24, of Peoria, was shot during a traffic stop early Monday at Oregon and 60th avenues, northwest of Camelback Road. He was pronounced dead at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, making him the first Glendale officer killed in the line of duty in more than 20 years. advertisement

  Good Grief! It is dangerous to be a police officer these days. People seem to shoot without thinking. I suspect its a perp high on drugs.
