Did you ever know any of your great grandparents?

Zipperzap's post about his great grandmother Ethel made me think about mine. I remember the only great grandparent I met was my great grandmother on my mother's side of the family. We called her "Little Grandma" because she was so petite. She was about 104yo when she died in about 1948. I was about 4yo and remember her funeral.

Do you remember any of yours?

  Only knew one Grand parent - My Mom's Mom, and she died when I was maybe 6.

  I knew both of my Grandmothers Mothers. One died when I was 2 or 3 and the other when I was 8.

  Mine were hillarious. Red-headed 4'2 and IN CHARGE married to a 7'3 skinny sweetie pie (he had to cut the toes out of his shoes)....and on the other side a tractor driving, quiet farmer type married to a wirey, bickerring sulled up, skillet swinger. I loved them all.

  I knew one of my great grandfathers and two great grandmothers quite well....has not been that long ago they all passed away.....my kids have two great grand fathers alive and two great grandmothers alive and well yet.they are all from my side of the family....people on my side of the family seem to live a long time.
