Insulated and drywalled my mother-in-laws garage yesterday, and put up trim and primed the drywall today. Not as much fun as you had, but a prodoctive weekend none the less.

    Jonk,
What bullet did you use for the 6.5? I too reload for the Carcano and until recently was not aware that the Carcano is a .268 and not the standard .264. It made a hugh difference in the accuracy of the rifle when the proper bullet was loaded. Graf and Sons has the Hornady 160 Gr. soft points in .268. I haven't seen them anywhere else.

Saturday I had to go to work all day. Today I did odds and ins around the house, and watched some football and chatted on the forum here and there. Pretty Uneventful for me.

Tried to help some people understand some simple concepts.

    No luck.

A spade is still indeed a spade, but even a very nice rake is not a spade.

You and your MIL must like each other. GOOD for you. Seriously!

    e8gm:

The bullet is available only at Grafs because Grafs contracted directly with Hornady to produce it. I haven't tried it yet myself.

I have been loading two bullets, one is a pulled military bullet. It is of the proper diameter. They show up on auction occasionally, and I have a good stock of surplus carcano ammo that I got from AIM surplus awhile back. The primers have gone south, but the bullet and powder are generally quite fine in a freshly primed new production case... I reduce the load 5% though as sometimes the new primer has lead to pressure signs with the charge 'as is'.

I also load cast bullets of .269" diameter. The mold is available from midsouth shooter's supply. It is a custom mold that they have on order with Lee. For mild loads up to about 2000 fps it does quite well also.

Shooting and loading? Sounds like you had a pretty good weekend.

We went to the last match of the year, for one of the disciplines I shoot. (Defensive pistol, no match in Dec) I ended up second place for the year. There was only a 7 point difference in the top 3 positions. 4th place was almost 30 points behind 3rd place. It was a good year. [:D]

Trying to talk the wife into shooting a match next year, instead of just watching. I think she would do well. [;)]
