Buy both if you can. The prices aren't great, but good enough.

red dots by themselves are expensive. And in my last gun mag said the redhawk was 450 bucks.

A Stainless Redhawk was only made in .357 till 1985. they are currently worth (as a referance):

    NIB: 695
    EXC: 525
    VG: 400
    Good: 275
    Fair: 200
    Poor: 150

It's still a good buy at $400, the red dot depends on the manufacturer and really wouldn't add to he value.

The marlin is also a decent price, but not the barn burner that the Ruger is.

MINE! has the 71/2 Barrel. No hickeys except what I would call a slight ring around the cylinder. The red dot sight is also stainless and is a Aim point adjustable for brightness. Rear sight has been removed to make room for the red dot. Grips have been changed to pachmier (sp) Also got a nylon shoulder rig that is convertible to a belt holster and has six shell loops. Got a camo folding shell holder also. [:)]

Yep! Bought both of them. The Marlin is a 39 CENTURY LIMITED with hex barrel. brass but plate and forend cap. It has a brass or bronze plate on the right side of the reciever and a brass plate on the right side of the stock. It has a fairly small hicky just forward of the forearm on the left side of the barrel where he had it stored in a rack with felt on it too long. Don't know why but he put see through Weaver rings with a 3-9 Simmons Deere field 32mm scope on it. Scope and rings dang near as big as the rifle! I will turn one of these into a 700 Remington 30-06 BDL some day!

Let me know if you get tired of it - and it's octagon (8 sided) not hexagon (6-sided). Have fun!

good job:) you will really like it

The red dot sight is also stainless and is a Aim point adjustable for brightness

make sure you pull the battery and see if there are any stores in your area that have them , some of the older aim points are kind of hard to find batteries for
