    don't care if he's black or white or purple. He should be Banned. I ain't a lover of Pit Bulls, or some other Breeds but i don't believe in mistreating dogs or any other animal.

    The problem was expressed by that basketball player of the Phoenix Suns a few years back. A lot of pro athletes do not want to be role models. They want to be regular people who happen to have very marketable skills. If the general population uderstood this, they might not elevate any athlete to a pedistal. I say the Pete Rose, Mike Vick, and the rest of the highly paid but showing human errors should be allowed to continue practicing their skill and deing honored for those skills and if they violate a criminal law, then they should pay those consequences. I guess if the garbage collector violated the law, you'd want him to be terminated too.

    I dont think the NFL should make the decision to ban him. I think it should be left up to the individual teams in the NFL. Once a citizen has paid his debt to society that the law perscribes then he should be able to make a living in this country if a company wants to hire him. The consumers can then decide to support that company or not.

    I disagree. The NFL should make an example of this scumbag and make sure that if he ever earns a dime again, it will be picking up our garbage and recycling the cans he finds inside.

    I have no time, pity, or sympathy to waste on these millionaires who think that the law does not apply to them.

    And in my opinion, in some cases your debt to society will never be paid. Murder, rape, other serious felonies - your debt will be paid once God lets you into heaven.

    As a flawed, short-sighted mortal, I demand revenge from time to time.

    The NAACP, his homeys, team mates, etc. can talk all they want about him being allowed to play again but it aint gonna happen. Remember, he's pleaded guilty to gambling, which is against NFL law. This dog cruelty thing will follow him to the grave. It will be at least 2 full seasons, and probably more, before he's on the streets again. Out of sight, out of mind. Competition is fierce and good for NFL jobs. There's the possibility of more serious charges by the State. Here's the bottom line, after several years away, with this dog cruelty thing, and the fact he's not going to put people in the Stadiums or lead a team to a Championship it's over for the knuckle head. He'll do his time and come out broke to boot.

    Just regular people huh? Marketable skills? How about they give making nine bucks an hour puting in auto windshields a try? They are role models like it or not, so that's why they get the big bucks.[xx(]

    P3- You are naming the problem- which is, sports stars and celebrities in general are considered role models. This is a status that a society of wannabees has developed. The role models should be parents, teachers and other "regular" folks, not some guy that leads a team to a championship, or stars in a movie, or can play a good game of golf.

    The priorities are all screwed-up and banning some football player because he didn't measure up to some ideal is merely putting credence and justification to the system of dead-end values.

    Maybe. When it comes to dogs (or any other living creature brutalized) I will take that risk. Any sadist that enjoys that should find the nearest conflict and jump right in. Slice open the belly of someone that can fight back. Enjoy THAT bloodletting.
    It's difficult to tell when someone is being serious by just the written word.
