Absolute 1st was a pos .22 revolver. First REAL handgun was a Dan Wesson .357 magnum 4" bbl. 0 -
Taurus PT-25. Still have it. 10 years old. Not even one misfire. Don't worry my second was a .357 magnum. 0 -

A lotta .38/.357s in the mix, I see.
My first firearm of any type was the 6" Model 66 that I sold to my oldest brother and the bastid won't sell it back or even take it out and give it some exercise once in a while.
Single-action off the bench it would shoot into 4-6" at 100 yards with just about any factory .357 load, which was pretty good in them days, and it'd put .38 wadcutters into an inch or so at 25 all day long.
(Ever try to shoot .38 wads at 100? It's hilarious.)0 -

Ruger MKII standard. Shot it until it almost fell apart. My second pistol but my first centerfire. Ruger P85. What a tank! I put a spring kit in it as the trigger pull was horrible. Shoots just fine and has tohusands of rounds through it. 0 -

It was either my Ruger Bearcat or my Smith K-38, not sure, but I still have both of them. Bought them around 1967.

I got my first hand gun back in 68. I was in love with the German Luger, but Dad wouldn't let me have one. I can still hear him say "WHY do you need that!" ...So one day I was at K-mart in Houston, TX and saw an Erma 22LR "Luger". I bugged my Dad to death, and he finally relented. So I took my money in ($59) and bought it! ...Well it lasted about 2 weeks and the firing pin broke! So I took it back to K-mart and they gave me the other one they had. And two weeks later the firing pin broke on that one! So took it back again, but they didn't have anymore, so asked if I'd be interested in something else. Only one that caught my eye was a Colt S.A. Buntline in 22LR ...it was $10 more, so I got that! I sold it 16 years later for $325!
Interesting continuing story on the Erma 22LR Luger. Back in 1981 I picked up my FFL lic. and was talking to a buddy that loved Lugers too. He had said he wished somebody would make an affordable Luger, because he would buy it! Well I tell him about my experiences with an Erma Luger. He got real excited and asked me to hunt one down for him. I did, but before I took his order I told him about the problems with the firing pins. He didn't care! So I got him an Erma 22LR Luger ...Firing pin broke about 2 weeks later! *L*0 -

First handgun I owned was a Colt .31 cal cap and ball revolver. Went on a train trip up to NYC to Robert Ables firearms shop in 1939 and bought it for $6.00. Put it in a paper bag and went home. Percussion caps were about .30 cents per hundred, bought 8 boxes of old O buck black powder shells for .25 cents a box. Between the O buck fitting nicely and the black powder from the cut open shells kept me shooting for quite a while. Wish I had never sold that pistol . 0 -
