Outdoor Wood Stove

I plan to build one this summer. My new neighbor removes\trims trees for a living,wood's no problem/cost.Seems all I find on net are boilers,no forced hot air.I plan to have it within 4ft of 20x30 garage,heat barrier and insulated heat/return ducts.Am I overlooking something that would prevent this being possible?
..I just dont have room inside,plus,I dont like open flame in a paint shop.Any thoughts?

    Hook it up to gas also just in case. Nice on the days when you only need heat for a couple of hours.

    I am looking into buying one this year.

    The boilers can be hooked into hot air, havent looked fully into it, but would assume you need a heat exchanger and use the existing blower on the furnace in the home or add another blower.


    I plan on getting one with a fuel oil burner and removing my furnace entirely and just having a heat exchanger and blower in its place.

    I built my own a couple years ago, this is all I heat my home with.
    I had a oil/forced air heater, so I piped the hot water to a heat exchanger that sits in the duct above the oil burner. Even on the coldest nights I load it before bed and again in the morning before work. When its 30 degrees out I can get a 24hr burn on a load. This fall I'm going to tie in domestic hot water and the shop. Some people also heat their pools and driveways with them.

    i would still have gas, because you have to run outside to fill it. There will be times when your gone etc. Also if thats your sole way of heating that could be a negative if you go to sell someday

    Up in Canada I prefer indoor wood stoves, but I've used the outdoor kind as well and they work amazingly well. Don't have to split wood at all ... just chuck it in the beast!
