I need to get new struts on my car however the parts I bought for it were literally sitting on the shelf for 2 years. Are they still good where I can use them; or would the gas out of the charged struts have leaked out?

What are expansion plugs in an engine, and why would they leak? 0 -
I had these put on my wife's car a couple years ago. I can't remember the brand, maybe Gabriel, anyway they came with a lifetime warranty. They've been on there at least two years and they don't seem to have deteriorated. I can't see where there would be any difference on the car or on the shelf. IIRC, the seller who I've done business with a long time said the warranty would pass on to the next owner (s) of the car. 0 -
2 years shouldn't be a problem. If you are buying from an auto parts store - you have the factory warranty - no big deal. If you are buying from a guy you met in Krogers - well you may have a problem. 0 -

Anyways; they are monroe sensatrack (sp?) struts.0 -
Forgot to add, I restored a 1974 Z-28 about ten years ago, and in upgrading the suspension I bought at a swap meet a pair of NIB gas charged shocks. These you had to compress them and put a vinyl band longitudinally (sp?) or they would pop out to about double their length. Anyway they didn't fit the Z so I put them on a shelf over the workbench. They're still like new, at least a year or so ago. So I wouldn't worry about two year old struts. 0
