It is reassuring to know that even while having lunch with the wife and the grandkids you are able to dedicate time to what those around you are doing as well as their keeping tabs on their eating habbits.

Funny, that was my first thought too [:)]

Grow up. They made it too obvious for anyone except a child to miss, and they sat less than 5 feet from us. I hope no one sneaks up on you from less than a mile, you will be so self absorbed they'll be in your lap before you know it.[}:)]

If I see someone doing something that I want to get on them about....I usually start getting ALL OVER one of my kids as if they did it. I have (on more than one occation) started bickering at one of them for something silly and they look at me....CLUELESS...until I can explain.

    I can see it now...

Me yelling out...."KAREN we didn't buy the all you can eat salad bar!!! If you want the salad bar we will PAY for it. If we just took advantage of the nice, trusting people and took what we wanted....they wouldn't be able to stay open!!!!"

All of my kids know it can happen at any time and to just say....yes ma'am and let me go. Its my little way of "giving" to the community......and teaching my kids what is and isn't ok at the same time.

My current trucking job is to deliver office furniture from warehouse to store. Evidently there is alot of competition amoung the stores in a given vacinity. Buyers will call and order from ALL the local stores, then actually buy from the one tat drops the price the most.
The end result is that we deliver alt of furniture that the stores turn around and return. And alot of this stuff gets trucked 1k miles from our larger warehouses BEFORE we truck it.
To cut down on this, the company instituted a no-return unless damaged policy. Then from day 1 of that policy going into effect, our damaged return rate went thru the roof! These store owners, many of whom claim to be pillars of the community and good Christians, were purposely damaging perfectly good furniture in order to screw our company and save a buck.

I saw a similar incident in CiCi's. These two friends, both adult males, and both mentally retarded, came in. I knew them both. Bob had a job in a nearby grocery store and was fairly self-sufficient. Rick had no job, and lived on disability.

Bob and Rick entered the restaurant. Rick went past the register and sat down. Bob paid for himself and went through the buffet line. Bob got enough pizza for both, went to the table, and shared his pizza with Rick.

The store was busy, so I figured the owner might not have noticed. I called him over and asked him if he were aware of the theft. He said, "Oh yeah. They do that about once a week. Then Rick will start feeling guilty about it and he will offer to pick up trash and sweep, so I let him and call it even."

...I hear you! Well, I don't care for that type of behavoir at ALL but unless it effects me or mine directly at the time, it's not my business. If the rude behavior does effect me or mine directly, I will confront whomever the offender is directly. I let the establishments management worry about their policies and money, they get paid for it.

...Im sure if you went in everyday Danny and watched, you would see plenty of this type of activity that the management is aware goes on; comes with the territory...[;)]

Just because they have a Lincoln Navigator doesn't mean they're rich. Some of the richest, more frugal people drive average cars and nobody would know it.

They may be leasing it or making huge payments on it while paying off huge credit card balances. Maybe they really couldn't afford to eat out? Who knows. Still very wrong. I would hate to see that. [V]

You could save the owner of the resturant the trouble if you just bust out on those folks. For example, the wife was walking into the bank, as a bank customer was coming out. The guy turns around and was checking out my wife so I hollered from our truck window, "Hey honey, that guy is checking out your ass." Needless to say, that guy took off very quickly, and really embarrassed. All you should have to do is tell them, "Hey you cheap bas-turd, you're stealing." That should embarass them enough to keep them coming back. I wouldn't have a problem telling them what they did.

Thanks to Gun Broker I already see Muslims lurking around every corner as well as zombies. I suppose I'll start keeping a close watch out for folks who help themselves to extra napkins and packets of Sweet and Low while eating out.

quote:I mentioned to our friend what I saw them do, and she said she knew it because they always do it. She said the bad thing is, if she says anything to them, they may put out a lot of bad word on the place that could cost them business. She said, if someone says they found a bug in their food at Joe's Grill, most folks will just believe them and never go to Joe's Grill again, and tell everyone else they know the same thing. She said, sometimes for the sake of the business, you just have to turn a blind eye.

you would be surprised at the amount of people that would "consider the source", when they told their story, and i would have them arrested for theft, it is no different than driving off at the gas pump it is still theft, and should be publicized

with her logic, if they would spread the word of what they are getting by with, they would be out of business anyway

Have you heard the new Coke radio commercial. Guy puts a can of Coke in the office frig and someone steals it. So his solution to bring a case of Coke. Because "you have to expect some shareage". Evidently theft, however small, is now OK in mainstream America.
I'd of been searching every wastebasket in the place to find the SOB who stole my can.

Do what I used to do. Let it be known that you rubbed it all over your private parts. Usually folks will let it alone then.
