January Crashes
It always seems like January can be a bit of a downer. Thanksgiving is followed by Christmas, then a new years eve party. Resolutions. Everybody is on a high but life continues. Accidents happen. Hardships hit home. Life continues, but after the holidays it seems much harder.
Seems like more often than not people start off the new year thinking this year is really gonna suck.
Anyway, have a good time tonight.

January is OK for me. Christmas is over, rabbit season starts, and The ice is made so I can perch fish. Springs a coming and baseball season is just 90 days away. 0 -
Christmas and New Year's can be depressing times for people who are not spiritual. Christmas in particular, as with Christ removed it must seem extremely hollow and hypocritical. Myself, I find January tough enough as Winter's meanest month -- without having to add hopelessness. 0 -

I like your upbeat outlook on it.[:D][8D][:D]0 -
what? after halloween, thanksgiving, christmas and new year's, the partying season is over, there's nothing to do outside, gotta go back to work (if you have a job!) nobody feels like spending any more money or socializing. so what else is there to do when you get home from work this time of year? hibernate in bed with your woman! sit there and read some books or whatever. relax. that's what this time of year is for. until spring when it's time to wake up and get out.
(too bad I don't have a job or a woman, but I ain't whining, if I had one or the other I'd know what to do!)0 -
I'm just glad the holidays are over.

You never did say what the name of the company you use to work at.
I respect that. That is some strength and discipline I do not have. I'd tell you I am praying for you but telling you that wouldn't lift your spirits.
Stay strong. Think creatively. Maybe a little stubborn edge is what you need to push yourself thought this period.0 -

BR here...NOT classic..
WHy would it seem extremely hollow and hypocritical?...
Christmas or any other day in the year for that matter, is EXACTLY what you make of it...If you make it hollow and hypocritical, then thats what it will be...If you make it meaningful, loving and rich , then thats what it will be...
I find Jan. to be a time of renewal....I dont mean resolution type renewal, but a time to quietly reflect on how I can make ppl around me happier...What can I do to make a difference....0 -
I have always said I wish I could hibernate from Jan.1 until the dogwoods bloom. 0
