In the FWIW dept, several years ago I received promos from one of the "Mint" companies offering a reproduction of the revolver he purportedly used at the OK Corrall. IIRC it was a large top-break Smith & Wesson in .45 caliber, probably not .45 Colt but the lesser powered Schofield type. These were non-firing replicas and cost about $150. Probably the truth of the matter is that there was not one and only gun these LEO's of that period used but whatever was handy at that time. Again, IIRC when Earp was arrested in NYC for a concealed weapon, while refereeing a boxing (wrestling ?) match, it was a SAA, caliber unknown.
