There are mountains of .223 down here.Would be a good time to move to .308 possibly.

Yes and Federal just signed a 5 year contract for Federal Rifle primers so watch them get scarce.[:(!][V][xx(][:(]

Okay, I can see the link to the military when discussing the .223 ammo. However, I do not see the connection when they are talking about .38 special and .40 S&W. I'm not saying I have not seen those prices rise just like the departments mentioned have. It's just that the military does not routinely use those calibers. So, I fail to see why they are saying the military is causing shortages of that ammo.

Mostly because the major manufacturers are changing some of their lines over to handle the increased production of .223, .308 and 9mm.

That article blamed the war as a reason why there is an ammo shortage but for some reason failed to mention Clinton banning importation of ammo from certain countries.
I know for a fact some countries, if allowed, could erase the shortage in two weeks and lower the price of .223 ammo by 65%

I was at Gander Mountain yesterday. Shelves and shelves filled with ammo, and of these calibers, too.

Anti-gun hysteria. They are trying to say that private citizens should not be allowed to buy ammunition because of the "shortage". Utter BS. I have large amounts of .223, .40S&W, .45ACP, etc.

Or maybe it will go up because the criminals don't think the cops have any bullets to defend the citizens with.....

I think that was a pretty cheap shot at the men and women who will run to defend you, your home and your business when the "shots fired" call goes out![:(!]

I sent an email to our Police Chief yesterday offering to donate some ammo. Haven't heard back from him yet.

Cheap shot? Danny, think whatever the hell you want. I take it you condone the killing, accidental or otherwise, that is done to innocent citizens in the name of the law?
Case in point on the Bayway across Mobile Bay, State Trooper stops a motorist, Glock pistol "just went off" and put a bullet through the motorists' head. Criminal negligence not addressed, civil suit pending. All Glocks statewide to incorporate "New York Trigger" due to this incident.
Everyone knows the drill, kid with a toy. DOA.

Been shooting any snakes out of the trees lately? Kid killed by bullet fired by officer. accident? Of course.
Getting away with negligent homocide is a "cheap" shot. No one has to pay for their mistake (unless you're John Q. Public).

Yes, cheap shot. How many times does that happen? Rarely. How many times does a cop give his life in defense of others? A lot, especially as of late.

I don't condone any of the incodents you addressed, and never will. I still think it was a cheap shot at all of the LEO's who defend and protect all of us, you included.

And before you say it, I know you will protect yourself and don't need them, but you family might when they are attacked while you are at work.

Bad cops! Bad cops! Right up until you need one!
