Kudos to Tilley Hat Co

A dozen or so years ago, I was visiting my daughter in Seattle and wandered into a relatively upscale sporting goods shop that was going out of business and purchased one of Tilley's outdoor hats at a very good discount--still pricey enough, but I had heard good things about them and went ahead and took the plunge. After hundreds of washings, a small hole wore through in the crown and I decided to test their warrenty ("...replaced free if it ever wears out; put it in your will.")and sent a check for $7.50 to cover shipping and handling. Within two weeks the replacement arrived. They had even honored my request for a different color (the close-outs had been rather restricted in choice)and had returned the old hat--which will be mended and used as a spare-- as well. This company deserves a pat on the back for making a quality product and for their customer service.
