What the heck is Rusty Wallace doing comentating the Indy 500?
And this is not the first Indy car race I have noticed him comentating!
Rusty has never drove an indy car that I am aware of! ( but maybe I am just suffering from oldtimers [:D])

Rusty isn't a bad guy - he just isn't in his enviroment. Bad network decission. I watched him during time trials - not pretty. Naturally, George has Indy blacked out so I can't see the race. It has to be to have a crowd. I started going to the race in the mid 50's. You couldn't get a seat - I always was in the infield. Now days the local radio stations give them away. If Tony could see this he would roll over in his grave. Ever watch an IRL race out of Indy? The netwook cameras make a point not to show the crowd (or lack of). George want to change things to be more affordable for upcoming American drivers and teams. What do we have?
I cant pronounce half the driver's names.
The only engine is a HONDA. I remember a couple vers. of Offys, Fords, Novi, and Andy with his turbines.

I never said Rusty was a bad guy, It is just funny listening to him try and comentate a Indy car race.
He knows nothing about the cars and is trying his best to not use NASCAR terms in describing things.
To me it is like a comedy![:D]0 -
...Indy and NASCAR are both a joke. I have zero interest in either one. They should take a clue from the NHRA. (though I don't follow that anymore either) Keep your cars within the basic safety rules, and may the guy with the most skill and horsepower win. None of this trying to keep everyone equal crap.
...It reminds me of the demo derbys around here. Most of them ban the Chrysler Imperials, as having an unfair advantage, due to their frame construction. BS. You can pop a radiator, bust a tie rod or push a tire off the rim on an Imperial, just as easy as any other car. OK, I'm off topic. I'll shut up now.0 -

I didn't thing he was doing too bad, he actully sounded like he knew what he was talking about, until he got the line-up wrong and put AJ Foyt IV in the fifth row instead of the 6th. 0 -
I am able to see the replay now and will comment on Rusty after. I'm not anti-Rusty he was just argumentive with his co-commentators that had years of experience in this venue on him during the time trials. Time heals! 0 -
Some of the best races I remember were the Indy stock car races. The old stock car races beat NASCAR hands down! 0
