You're right about the Salvadoreans...my first neighborhood off post was off Columbia Pike, about half a mile past Bailey's Crossroads (near the Pollo Champero and where they stop writing the business signs in English). Two weeks after I moved in I had my subwoofer, amp, and bumpers stolen. Yes, my bumpers. In broad daylight on a Saturday, while I was inside. None of the stoop-sitters in the neighborhood saw nuthing mang.
This was shortly before the MS-13 crew found some chick that had testified against them in court and chopped off her legs, arms, and head and threw the pieces in the park down on Columbia Pike.
One of the local politicians started getting hot on enforcing the occupancy limit for rentals. The Salvadoreans like to rent a 2-bedroom townhouse and put 12 people in there, coming and going at all hours, wrecking the place and generally raising all kinds of hell. Last I heard somebody torched his car and spray-painted a bunch of gang signs on his front door.
If you're ever in for a sight, go visit the Home Depot in Four Corners. They basically have the tool department barricaded in like an arms vault with private security guards and everything. There's usually at least one Arlington County cruiser stationed outside, too. Since most of the Salvadoreans are illegals and can't do anything other than construction, they'd apparently walk in there and just walk straight out with whatever power tool they needed. My final resting place will be on a hill in Freedom Township. My Great-grandfather farmed just north of there. Grandpa was raised on the farm just south, to the west 2 miles is my father's place and a 1/2 mile east is the old Freedom Lutheran Church.
