Maybe they are just trying to put some distance between them and your old smoker. Don

    And also Mustangs?
95% of all new Mustangs think They need to race me.
Whats up with the New Mustang Owners?

Its fun to pull up next to a crotch rocket hit the pipes and watch him go into full competition mode and do a wheelie down the block.
I just sit there and laugh to myself, got another one! [:D][:D]

Yep - they WANT you to "win" so they won't have to worry about you running them off the road at 100 mph or trying to avoid hitting your carcass when you bounce off the old oak tree

I like to let them win so they can pay the ticket when the police has them pulled to the side and I slowly cruise on buy in second place.

    good control on your part.

so let me do an old geezer i rememebr when story.....
youre in a new generation where ego is king. see, the new generations have taught kids that everyone is ok and that you all are number 1. so, its only understandable that anyone who owns a bike is going to prove to everyone else that they are number 1. no one likes to lose anymore. worst yet, no one knows HOW to lose with grace anymore.
see, there was a time when another bike would want to ride with you as an equal, and all the cars were the enemy. now its bike on bike. blame hollywood for some of it. but mostly its a learned american ritual of constantly trying to prove who number 1 is. [xx(]

bottom line NO ONE CARES what you ride or who you are. riding is suppose to be fun for YOU, and everyone else is suppose to just mind their own business or be part of the family of bikes and ride as a group....FOR FUN.

the market has brainwashed buyers into thinking they are substandard unless they have the FAStest BIKE IN THE WORLD. and you must buy a new one whenever they dream up some new fangled gizmo to make them king of the hill.

who cares!! all of my bikes are over 30 years old! i got off the retail game and learned to be satisfied decades ago.

having a rice rocket is like trolling for prostitutes with your fly open. some just cant resist the urge to flirt with a challenge. ride a race bike, people will want to race you. its like they are offering you a chance to use your bikes ability. its like...why own a match pistol if all you do is shoot squirrels? why do you own a race bike?[?]

BUT, it would appear you have mastered the art of losing with grace, knowing all along, the challengers just didnt know how close they came to being a victim of one trottle twist of your bike.

    ignore them. enjoy your ride....grasshopper.[^]

The Harley-riders just want a glance at something that's built RIGHT and do that before their own rattles itself to pieces.

Wave as you slowly go by, while they get the ticket.

I admit I've done that to sport bikes on my Electra-Glide, but I don't have a clue why I did it.

I sometimes get a real dumb ricer or mudstain driver trying to race me. I normally just try and pretend they aren't there. If they keep bothering me I'll wait til the traffic is clear and smoke'em through the lights. I then drop out of it and idle away. Dave

They are just trying to make themselves feel good - but they know they are kidding themselves and nobody else.

It seems that everyday as I am cruising along on my 1000cc Crotch Rocket I get someone on a Big Old Harley or Big Old Goldwing pull up along side me and then try to race me through town and around corners and traffic?
I could blow the tires off these geezers and their giant bikes but I am not interested in proving something I already know.
What is it about these guys all wanting to race me?

I just stay the my speed and let them think they accomplished whatever it is they think they accomplished.[:D]

I don't have the answer to your question, but I can tell you this. A Goldwing is a horizontal 6 cylinder that will grind the heads at a 45 degree angle. Anyone who wants to try to out corner you on a Goldwing, or thinks he can out drag you on a 925 pound bike is an idiot.
