Typical of what the democrats stand for these days, and a lot of the folks who vote for them can't see it.

    Sad, sad, sad.[V]

So what g.o.p members voted for this.
(July 30) Last Friday, by a 371-40 vote, the House cleared for the president's signature the conference report (H. Rept. 110-259) for the bill implementing unfulfilled recommendations of the 9/11 Commission. That conference report includes a provision authorizing DHS to expand the Visa Waiver Program (VWP), which enabled convicted 9/11 co-conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui to enter the U.S. using just his French passport and would have allowed shoe bomber Richard Reid to enter using just his British passport

    To answer your question: One.[xx(]

    221 voted for.

That is the ratio of Dems with brains to ones without.

EM since you think it was so great of the Dems to pass that crap would you do me a favor and pay my share of the welfare bill for the illegals. I'm tired of my taxes going up so we can support all the illegals that are here now and on their way for the free benefits the Dems gave[:(][xx(][V][:(!]

You want to bet that Dubya doesn't sign it. If Dubya does sign it, does that make Dubya a democrat?

I don't think that is what this thread is about, and it's not typical behavior for either party. To the best of my knowledge it's the first time anything like this has ever been done in the house or senate. There are ways to screw each other without subverting the very system of government. Just one small step closer to the collapse of the Republic. Very short sighted and sad indeed.

Danny no spin just facts. It fun to pull your chain.[:D][:D][:D]. Tell me again how proud you all are of Dubya and his gang. The house reps that belong to the g.o.p. can easly stop the dems, but not if Dubya thinks its a good deal, oh well. Doesn't it still take a two thirds majority to get anything thru the house of reps.Do the democrats have control of the house by two thirds? Danny wheres the the spin? Can Dubya veto this if it gets thru the senate? Will he? Where is the spin? Were talking about America's saftey, right? Who in there right mind would not want a visa along with a passport before you let anyone in to your country, when your at war? I know Dubya already told us we won the war, I just find it hard to believe him.Stir , stir, and stir again.

I'm not proud of the President, and the spin is, you democrats refuse to admit YOUR elected politicians are the ones putting up the bull, then YOU want to spin it as to wheather Bush will veto it or not. Are you kidding me? It's your guys trying to pass it to begin with.

The few good democrats who are left refuse to see or admit where their party has gone hard left and far away from mainstream America, and I think you're one of them. I don't think you agree with half of your parties platform, yet you blindly support them. Open your eyes man! The liberals own you now!

If you want to stir, ask your party why they refuse to support border patrols and security, author amnisty bills, want to raise taxes, and cater to the hard left and minorities? They will "stir" you right out of the party just like they did Liberman.

I have voted for democrats many times. Where they stand right now, it is unlikely I'll ever do it again. Bush is about a close to the democrats as he is to the republicans. Sad, but true.

Don't ask how many republicans voted for something you dislike, ask how many in you party voted for it. You won't like the answer, but then again, it doesn't look like you want to know the truth. Your party has abandoned you.

A simple majority is needed to pass a law.

Two thirds is needed to override a veto.

Danny i'm not a democrat or a republican. Like I said I vote my pocket book. In other words I don't think either party has walked on water. You on the other hand seem to think the republicans can walk thru the ocean, without getting wet. When Teddy K and Dubya agree on anything I get worried, you seem to think Dubya knows what he is doing.I don't.You were one that agreed the dems waffled, Dubya has waffled, how many times?Where is the spin? Danny I don't have a party that i'm true to, I have a country ,( U.S.A)that I have put my life on the line for.But the best part of it all , is I get to pull your chain .[:D][:D][:D]

    Where is the spin?

    Okay, last time. Listen closely.

When the democrats introduce it, and your spin is it's up to Bush to veto it, you are spinning it that it's Bush's issue instead of admitting it's the democrats issue. That is spin. Call the democrts on their actions, don't blame it on Bush who didn't bring it up to begin with. It's an all too common technique of Bush haters to try to spin everything so they can hammer Bush, even something he had nothing to do with. Hope that made it clear.[;)]

As for me, I am an independent voter, but I haven't voted for a democrat on the national level in 24 years. Not because I'm a republican, but because I do not, and will not support the democrats liberal agenda. Local and even some state democrats have received my vote and will continue to do so as long as they don't turn into a left coast or Kennedy clone.

Your opinion of what I think of Bush is so off base, I can't even start to point out how wrong you are. I voted for him twice, more because of who the other choices were than anything. I totally support him on the war, I totally oppose him on border security. I support him on his Middle East policy, I oppose him on spending. It goes on and on....

You say you vote your pocket book? That is the most outragous thing I've ever heard. So you saying you would vote for Kennedy as long as it put more money in your pocket? Man, you need to some serious thinking about what gets your vote!

And as for pulling my chain. I'm not reacting, I arguing a point. If you think my remarks are emotional, you aren't seeing the smile on my face as I type! But, if it makes you happy to think I'm a Bushy, a republican or an emotional political advocate, let it be.

We'll see who the next president is, and who is proud enough to admit they voted for him/her after they take office. I expect a lot of dishonest replies to those future posts. I'm honest enough to admit who I vote for and why. Some aren't.

2008 will be an interesting time.[;)]

Okay let this be the end of this thread. I just stated that the republicans in the house could of killed the bill.As for me voting my pocket book, I like to have a house of reps divided,( half dems and half republicans ), I'd like the senate to also be divided like the house of reps.If they are fighting each other tooth and nail, they'll leave me and my money alone. It wouldn't bother me what party the president came from. I look at all politician as power mongers. They would like to have us all under thier thumb. I sometimes wonder if they care about the country they profess to serve.

Just used your words and your statements , and pointed out where you were ducking the facts and spinning it to an anti-Bush spin. Hope you see the point and will play closer to the facts rather than twisting them to suooprt a personal agenda. I think you came close to misspeaking with the "I vote my pocket book" statement, because I don't believe for a minute that you would vote for a gun grabber for president even if it put money in your pocket. I played that up so maybe you word either choose your words a little more carefully or at laest think things out on a little deeper level.

You have to admit you could be viewed as a democrat from the way you support a lot of their retoric and actions, and I can understand how I could be viewed as a republican because of how I hammer the democratic party on almost every issue they stand for.

Either way, I enjoyed the discussion, and we can agree to disagree on some of the issues. No personal attacks, foul language or insults, so I think others could learn from our discussion here.

With all respect, God bless you my friend, and we'll se what the majority thinks in 2008.

We completly agree on our dislike and distrust of all politicians, so we do have some common ground. Where is Teddy Roosevelt when you need him?[^]
