Since when . . .
Did I become the Complaint Dept. for the State of California?
Ever since I moved to AZ, EVERYONE, even perfect strangers feel it is my job to be their venting-upon person for all their gripes about California.
My response to them "I don't give a $#!+ about you or your opinions."
A few weeks ago at Walmart, some cowboy-wannabe-lookin thick-necked Skoal-chewin' rabble rouser starts some static with me at the checkstand after the checker said "Oh, California! Where are you from?" I said, "The Bay Area." Gene Autry's fluffer replies "Oh, San FAGsisco, huh? You from San FAGsisco?" I said "never heard of that place. Anywhere near Antioch? There's a lot of redneck idiots there."
He gets pissed. Tough titty.
He starts mouthing off and did the ol' two-finger chest shove routine.
I told him that in the Bay Area, that move would get him thrown through the nearest window.
He says, "You talk mighty tough for a fella facing a man with a Glock on his hip!" Sure 'nuf, he had a gun.
I said, nice and calm (he was about 3 points systolic from a purple-faced nut attack), "having that piece don't make you no kind of man. Did I talk poop about Arizona to you? Did I start poop with you? I am a guest in your fair state. Act like a good host."
I hear it all. Gays, "liberals", Barbara Boxer, expensive lettuce, Mexicans (THEY COME FROM DAMN MEXICO, Y'ALL ARE ON THE BORDER!), and the NUmber One: Nancy Pelosi.
I never even HEARD of her until I moved here!!!
Since I have been appointed the de-facto punching bag for California, I figure a little turnabout-is-fair-play is in order:
Got my own gripe about Arizona (or certain Arizonans) that I'll air here. I realize there is open-carry here, and I'm cool with that. Why is it that the majority of open-carriers I have encountered act like that gun is a chip on their shoulder? Like that dip-spit-smelling John Wayne wannabe. Like this dude I encountered at the Circle K. Got all offended whrn I locked up my bike. Rested his hand on his gun and said "didn't need to do that>"
What gives?

Better check your back and see if one of your friends put a "kick me" sign on your back![:0][:0]
Most people who carry guns and have a carry permit are taught to never and I mean never present that gun or let anybody know you have that gun unless your life is in danger. The guy was not working with a full deck.
Must be the bike. Everyone knows bikers are trouble![:D]0 -
Well; when a feller saunters into a store wearing a pink tutu those kind of reactions are expected. [:D][}:)][:D][:D][:D][:D][:)][:0][;)][}:)][:D] 0 -
Just remind those folks that they don't have even a single oil refinery in their state and a large portion of their gasoline and diesel fuel comes to them through a pipeline leading from ([:0]) California. 0 -

+1 on the Wisconskin gun laws. Not much goin' for ya there either.Won't change for a while either from what my Door Co. friends tell me. I guess if the oportunity to call 911 on some dufus with a gun in Walmart presented itself to me I'de a done it.Of course I would of said "excuse me " first.Coulda been real enlightening for everyone0 -
well aware of that the mayor is not infavor of anything pro gun. His way the whole state probably wouldnt have an air rifle 0 -
