captive Brit sailors
Is the female ever going to shut up?
Getting your face in the media to let the world know you're being held is one thing, but she's becoming a one woman propaganda campaign.

...yep, when the cameras are off, probably a whole different situation. There are today, several of the sailors talking too, not just her. God's speed to 'em.
...Taking out those sand jockey's ONLY gasoline refinery, port facilities and at least half their navy...might get their attention.
...Irrational twits that only understand force, so give them something they understand.
Wonder if the Brits have a stealth bomber, great weapon system for an attack on those jokers refinery...[;)]

Let's hope they're more professional than that... but who knows? We tortured captives - so I sure as heck wouldn't put it past them.0 -
...so cynical, still blaming America first heh? God forbid giving the benefit of the doubt to your own country...yet giving it to these worthless sacks.
... The rag heads have shown a propensity for "torture" far worse than hanging underwear on someone's head. How many heads have we whacked off in the name of "allah"? How many cattle prods have we stuck up anyone's azz? And don't say "yeah but..." Proof??? Nada, zilch, any further rhetoric about torture is just that, rhetoric and liberal talking points. You have proof, produce it, take it to the DOJ.
...I have ZERO sympathy for these illegal combatants in Gitmo, or anywhere else for that matter, period. The world would be far better off without the majority of the middle east...considering it's a continuing supporter, actor in the majority of terrorism..[;)]

At this point I'm more inclined to believe she was simply the wrong person for the job.
Getting your face seen in the media to insure the world knows you're being held, therefore making the Iranian gov't responsible for producing you in the end, is understandable. She's going a bit overboard.0 -

I think you miss the point that they were bad to females before America ever existed, and have not changed. "Professional" is not a word that applies to human treatment in the Islamic faith.

You know this how? You were there? You saw it? I think you trust a lying liberal media and a bunch of left wing blogs. Of course, your definition of torture may include coerced interrogation of prisoners of war. There is no war with Iran, and these are British sailors, not American sailors, so what "we've" done shouldn't apply.
Do you not agree that parading them on TV is a violation of the Geneva convention?
I am amazed at those of you who jump to defend an enemy who has sworn to "destroy" America. Some of you let your hatred for Bush turn into hatred for your own country.
Don't become a "Rosieite", a "Fondain" or a "Maherman".0 -
I don't fault anybody for anything they say or do while they are being held hostage, especially being held hostage by Muslim radicals.
Make no mistake about it. They are not prisoners. They are not captives. They are hostages.

Sorry if the truth hurts but if we can, they most likely will.

abu graib was not torture. also, even if it was, one wrong doesnt make another right. also, we prosecuted the americans responsible for illegal acts committed. does iran do the same ? EMM, your hatred and disloyalty towards MY country is sickening. please leave and go live with the "moral and righteous" iranians or some other country.0 -
dheff,
Who's defending them? I simply said that if we, the United States, can subject people to torture (I'm sorry... "coercive interrogation techniques" that include breaking bones and possibly rape), then there is no doubt in my mind that someone like Iran, with a much lower regard for humanity than we've got, likely is engaging in "coercive interrogation techniques" (which is the PC way of saying "torture").0 -

Do you really think she is making those statements of her own free will?
With the right sort of persuasion even you could be broken.

Sure thing, tough guy. Make me.
Fact is the people in charge were not prosecuted - they made fall guys out of the lower ranking soldiers and hanged them out to dry. Is that "supporting the troops?" Is that your idea of tying a yellow ribbon? Screw the enlisted man and let the policymakers, decision makers, and order-givers go unpunished?
Spare me. Take your self-righteous indignation and foist it upon someone who gives a $#!t.0 -

Let's get back on the subject. God bless those prisoners. They're being used as bait to antagonize the west because the intellect of the Muslims is akin to an uncontrollable smart'assed bully in junior high. Noble they are not. We're headed for a major smack-down with those people and I think the more time we give them to build weapons the crazier we are.0 -

nice try. there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that anyone other than the people charged at abu ghraib had anything to do with the crimes committed there. i think what you really mean is you want Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld tried and convicted. you still hate america, you still support the enemy...wait, you ARE the enemy. why dont you just admit it and be honest and have some integrity.0 -
newt,
Yeah, yeah... I'm the enemy. Booga booga.
Certainly you can come up with better than that hackneyed old jibe about me "hating America."
Yeah, I hate her so much I want her to live up to the ideals laid out by our Founding Fathers and am disappointed when her people choose the low road, thereby emulating the very cretins you profess so loudly to despise.

Torture ???? Yea right Monkey. Shoulda just killed them on the battlefield and that would have been that. Wonder what the women of thier culture considers torture ? Perhaps being beaten or killed because somebody raped them or thier scarf showed to much face. Having a dog bark at you is not torture, wise up ! 0 -
Abu Gareb was wrong, but that's not the point.
The point is that wrong is wrong. Our being wrong doesn't make Iran right. Don't EVER fault those soldiers being held hostage. Iran is 100% wrong in what they are doing.
The problem with what we did with Abu Gareb is that a. it prevents us from taking the moral high ground, at least without splitting hairs, and b. It proves the theory behind treating POWs with respect - it hopefully comes back to our own POWs. Again, that's not to say that Iran woudln't have done this anyway, but we (i.e., Britain) didn't need to be dealing with this crap.0 -

Thank you. People have a tendency to get so wound up that they forget that various rules are in place for a reason and in their conceit think the shoe will never be on the other foot.
A note to everyone - I never said Iran was justified in what they did, only that if we can, they most likely will.0 -
...All these bleeding heart, far left talking points of torture.[xx(]
...IF YOU are so sure that torture took place at Gitmo, produce the FACTS! that show this to be the truth, as I am VERY sure the left wing media, DOJ...not to mention Amnesty International, Move-on .org would be SO happy to listen and would be beating a path to your door; but the fact is, there is/was NO TORTURE, NO TRUTH!!. Still NO proof/facts presented, just the tired, lame talking points, what a surprise!
...The only "torture" is in the minds of the Bush haters and bleeding hearts that somehow find it in themselves to have sympathy for these rabid dogs. Rabid dogs have always and continue to be, put down; the same goes for these inhuman terrorist, AND their supporters and sympathizers.
...I was at my docs yesterday, he's die hard Dem...and the conversation turned to this Iranian crap. He made mention that he is dissappointed and appalled at the actions the dims have taken since comming to power this year...as he said:
"they have done just as most Repubs said they would do, BS investigations based on partisan agenda, not facts". There comes a time to do what is the best for the(your) country over being a politician. Regardless of WHY we are in Iraq, we are there and we need to secure a victory, or we will be screwed".
...I was somewhat surprised by his statements about Iraq, and the current situation with Iran, as we are both joos (joos are mostly Dems) and he and I lock horns on most political subjects. BUT, he is NOT a die hard Bush hater THAT blinds him to reality as is the obvious case with most of the far left, hell, not far left, most dims truth be known.
...The bleeding hearts that feel water boarding, keeping a sub human terrorist awake for 24-30 hours w/o sleep, keeping the air conditioner turned down (brrrr [8D]), playing loud rap music 24/7 (now THAT may cross the line [:D]) are very missguided and/or do not comprehend the enemy we face. IF anyone that does not follow/accept their (dims) mindset, they are accused of being "afraid", "seeing a terroist behind every bush", "being a sheeple and being brainwashed by Bush"...nothing could be further from the truth. Let 'em go on thinking this...it just sets the dims up for a resounding defeat at the election box; downside, sets America up for the NEXT terrorist attack...and there will be one.
...I wonder how the dims will backtrack, spin, blame the Repubs when THAT happens? We all know that they do not believe in perssonal responsibility...it's always "someone elses fault", but theirs.
...Maybe 08 will go in their favor, who knows...but if that happens, that will be the end of their "reign" for many more years, just as it has been for the most part over the last 40 years.
...So far the dims since gaining power have blessed us with, nothing but doing their best at doing NOTHING productive, pointless bogus "look at me! investigations (Gonzales) and underminning the funding of the troops...all for political theater...with OUR tax dollars.
...A few things the dims added to the military funding bill...$100 milion for Dim & Repub PARTIES around the party conventions, millions for peanut barns, spinnach farmers aid,...etc, etc. and for what? TO bribe senators/congressman who otherwise would NOT vote for their "retreat/defeat" bill, to vote for it, pure political BS!
... ...Besides their "retreat/defeat" statement, as that is all it is, while attempting to hurt our troops, they are drafting the BIGGEST tax hike in the history of this country, what a surprise!
...Congress and Senate are not sanctioned to run any war, cut off funding yes, run it, NO. The dims do not have the courage to cut funding, instead they want to slice and dice here and there and try to slow bleed our war effort, a great example of their spineless, anti-American, nature. Don't give me the old "It's because I support my military and Country is why we do this, HOGWASH!
...Thanks to all of the dims that voted for 'em, and to the lazy azz neener-neener Repubs that were not happy with the way the Repubs went overboard on spending etc and cast a "protest" vote, or no vote at all..yeah, YOU Repubs sure showed 'em! Isnt there a saying about cut nose, spite face or some such saying?...
...I have never seen anyone missread a situation (06 Nov elections) as bad as the dims have...unless it was Sadams misscalculations...hmmm, the dims are in good company there...[;)]
