Linksys are pretty good routers. You can get on the phone with them and they will tell you how to set up the system to be password controlled to keep out others.

In most cases the others that tap into your system really don't do any damage, they just use the wireless sytem to gain access to the internet. Its unlikely but possible that they could cause a problem.

Most folks recomend that you shut down the wireless system when not in use for the highest level of security. That will frustrate the heck out of neighbors and cut them off in the middle of their play time and force them to get their own system.

You need to lock it down to specific MAC addresses. A MAC address is a hard-coded in the network card ID number, unique to the *continent*. Of course, with the right OS (not windows) you can change your MAC address...

Also, depending on what wireless you have in laptops/desktops, you can use somethign stronger than WEP - which is about as good as a screen door security wise. Use WPA if possible. Also, don't broadcast your SSID.

Please explain all of that good information in really, really simple minded terms.
