Ticks!!!! shudder....gag....cringe....icky..!
The two "centers of our household" here keep bringing them in. We live in the woods and they go out to do their "business" next thing you know I have one on my leg...my daughter got one off of her and my husband says he pulled TWO off of himself yesturday.
We have frontline on them...and the dogs aren't getting bitten....just taxis for us to get them. Is there a magic thing that I don't know about?
I am completely grossed out...and I have an ITCHY spot where I got bit....gross!

Best way to handle it is to burn down the house. Sounds like you're infested.
Meanwhile, when are you having the 3,000 post giveaway? No, we don't want ticks.0 -
I will have to bring something home just for that....wasn't thinking! Sorry I missed it. 0 -

Please include me in this very generous giveaway!0 -
I had one crawling up my neck last week. Don't know where it came from, but it met it's doom on my chair mat courtesy of my CRKT M16-13SF. 0 -
Put up an electric fence and dont let your dogs go in the woods. You can treet the fenced area. If they are going to go in the woods, they need a repelant as well. Spay them down and rub it in their fur and they will be fine. Just read the directions. Ask your vet abouty interactions with current med. They will certainly have an idea as well.
Good luck,0 -
seems like a bad season for the ticks!
I've had one, and found probably 10 on me.

Count me In![:D][:D][:D]0 -
It is not the big ones you easily see you have to worry about. It is those small meanies that are the size of a ball point of a pen. 0 -
CRKT = GOOD

that "advantage" or whatever medicine kills them on my shepard mutt for 2-3 months each treatment 0 -
If you choose to live in the sticks in the South, you are going to live with ticks. You might as well get used to it. I consider any day that I only kill four ticks a good day.
I found one sure cure for the tick problem. When I lived in the Aleutian Islands of Alaska I didn't see a single tick, flea or fly. I decided I'd rather live in the sticks in the South. [:D]0 -
Worst season in a long time for ticks here in Southern Indiana. Went camping last weekend and our dog had 14 ticks (he only weighs 14 lbs), my 8 year old daughter and wife each had about 6 on them. I only had one. Guess I smell too bad for'em. 0 -

I like both for different purposes. CRKT for everyday pocketknife use, Buck for deer-gutting use.0 -

Ask Buckeyboy. His bro got rocky mountain spotted fever a long time ago, and it still gives him problems.

Ticks are bad here also (CA) im in the redwood sticks, I use this stuff called outdoor off and you attach it to a hose and spray the whole yard down! Its also good for the flys and mosquitos!Works for about 3 weeks solid! 0 -
Who needs a 30-06 when youve got an ak and a mauser?! 0 -

Bad tickey here too, but we spread some granulated stuff on the lawn
every couple of years that helps a lot.0 -

All day long....I've been freaked out by it. Every little tickle, or "feeling" at all led to a quick scratching and inspection. I hate these things! Two dogs in and out of our home...not to mention the three kids...they are evil little critters! I say lets wipe them out for good. They can't serve a purpose....not like our poor little bees who are having a population problem. Why couldn't that be the tick's predicament? 0 -

Guineas have a reputation for keeping ticks down. The man who used to live behind my place kept guineas, but I never noticed it keeping them down, but he swore they did.

check your local pesticide supplier for area spay. I use diazinon, but folks with small kids may not want to use that. for the itching from the bite, campho-phenique. Yeah, really does work. Keep the pups outa the woods for a coupla weeks until the hatch of ticks dies down a bit. 0 -

To funny.Afriend e-mailed this to me today.
Did you see this latest scam?
I hate it when people forward bogus warnings, and I have even done it myself a couple times...but this one is real, and it's important.
I checked it out on Snopes and it IS true!
So please send this warning to everyone on your e-mail list:
If people come to your front door saying they are checking for ticks
due to the warm weather, and then ask you to take your clothes off and
dance around with your arms up....
DO NOT DO IT!!
IT IS A SCAM!!
I wish I'd gotten this yesterday.
I feel so stupid....0 -
Ticks aren't bad for but I hate Spiders[:(] 0
