Are the woods posted? If so, the owner should be able to call the sheriff. Maybe you can call on owners' behalf? I don't know. If the woods aren't posted, I don't know if there's anything you can do.

Its a matter I would take up with the land owner. But why cant you hunt in the woods? If they say you can hang tree stands why not? I would consult all four land owners about the other intruders.

With the samll amount of woods and around the field it was agreed by everyone that we would stay out of them. All the deer come through the woods to our field and the other land owners have stands through out the woods so for everyones saftey we each have a desginated section that we hunt. The cops were called on the two tresspassers last year and the told them to stay off everyones land. No tickets and no fines.

quote:Whenever someone tells them to leave the woods they say we gave them permission. we have talked to them twice and they tell us the land owner gave them permission which he didn't.

I may be wrong. But I think I get it.

When you and your partner encounter the "trespassers" They tell you that the land owners gave them permission to use the woods. But when the landowners encounter the guys, They tell them that YOU gave them permission to use it.

    If that is the case.

    1. Go to the land owners and inform them that you gave NO ONE permission to be their. And if you had they should be able to produce a written "permission slip" signed by you.

Arm yourself for this one.. With a Cell phone.

    2. If you encounter the trespassers. Have your partner distract them. Call the land owner and tell the guys that the land owner would like to speak to them. They have no where to go then. They can't tell the land owner that you gave them permission while facing you. And they can't tell the land owner you gave them permission while using your phone.

    3. Tread lightly.. Remember what happen to that party of hunters in WI after Hop Sing with the SKS got done pizzed off.

Certified letter from each of the land owners and you and your hunting partner. State it concise and comprahensive. If they continue to trespass after that they will expect to be arrested. Don't disapoint them.

Here in my neck of the woods, oral permission is required for hunting on non-posted land. Written permission is required for posted land and you better have the document on you. Next to spotlighting, this will get you a ticket quicker than anything. Gamewardens enforce this law, and they don't have to be called. They can show up at any time. Our gamewardens have elephant memories. They will remember a violator and check him repetedly for years.

I have talked the other land owners and we decided to line the guys property with posted sighns and will call the local sheriff if we see them out there again. All the land owners know what is going on so we will give them one more chance to find a different place to hunt.

Went out this morning and all the posted signs were missing so we called the sheriff to serve the guys with a no trespassing notice. I hope this work.

JUST GO BUST OUT OF THE " MONKEY HOUSE " Hop Sing with the SKS AND TURN HIM LOOSE IN THE AREA OF THE DISPUTE..

IT WON'T BE A DISPUTE VERY LONG AFTER THAT ........

Now they have committed two crimes, tresspassing and removing of no hunting signs. They are racking up the fines.

They can be arrested for trespassing even the land is not posted.
They can also be arrested for interfering in a legal hunt.

I would set tannerite bottles in various places in the field and then use my night vision and wait for those guys to come back then touch off a few bottles of tannerite when they get within 100yds of the tannerite.
That might be more fun then hunting deer.

Call the Sheriff and have them sort it out. It will either prove someone's lying, or it will have them facing charges.
