Balistics on MagSafe rounds?

Does anyone know of any balistics on these low penitration rounds. They advertise them as more stopping power than hollow points, but I don't see it. I've never used them or hunted with them to see how they kill, so any information you have would be appreciated. I'm a little unsure I want to use them as defensive rounds.

    Years back when I owned a FN, "GP Competion" with a 6" barrel. I did a lot of croning with various loads.

    This was with the original MagSafe ammo, when Joe Zambone was still alive and making it.

    MagSafe 9mm "Stealth" ammo = averaged 2,117 fps.

    Glazer "Silver" safety Slug = averaged 1,641 fps.

    Hirtenberg 100 grain soft point "police" load = 1,403 fps.

    Cor-Bon 90 grain H-P's = 1,606 fps.

    Never did that scientifically, for any of the ammo I shot. My test medium was quart Gatorade bottles full of water. These were shot at 50 feet offhand, (shortest distance the retards who ran the range, would let you set up reactive targets). My hollow point 88 grain Remington handloads at 1600 fps would rupture them quite satisfactorily. The MagSafes were so expensive and the point of impact was so squired because of the very light bullet at hyper velocity, never even attempted it.

    I don't believe they would make adequate hunting loads, because of lack of penetration. It's not only the MagSafes but all of the very high velocity hollow point and "trick" rounds in my list, ( other then the Hirtenberg ). Because of this I adopted the Remington 147 grain Golden Saber as my standard, social purposes bullet.

    Try these guys, they have made a lot of tests of various bullets. You might able to get the MagSafe data from them.

    Personally I thing your wasting your money by buying either the MagSafes or any other of the very high velocity hollow points, for hunting. They are sorely lacking in the through and through penetration that is required.

    I was considering them as self defense rounds, not hunting rounds, but I usually take a round I plan to use for self defense on a hunt one time to see what it will do as a stopping and killing round. I don't want to just kill an animal to see what it will do in meat, so I either hunt one time with them or shoot something that is already dead to see what damage a round will do. I haven't done that with a MagSafe, so I don't know.

    I was given 80 Magsafe rounds. 50 in .45 ACP and 30 in .40 S&W. I don't like carrying something i know nothing about, so I was just wondering if someone else had some knowledge of them.

    You really must live a clean god-fearing life, for someone to just give you 80 rounds of MagSafe. When I was shooting it way back when, it was 3.00 a round.

    As long as you don't have to pay for it, go for it. See what it can do. Be advised though, because of the extreme high velocity, and very light bullet weight the sights will be really off. Shoot it on paper first to get your sights readjusted, for the correct POA.

    Old stock that would not sell. He had them on the shelf for years and they are in 5 round packs. He pulled them off the shelf and wrote them off. I was just lucky enough to be friends with him.
